We built our home with Nor-Son in 2016. Nor-Son was wonderful! They are a top-notch builder with wonderful client service. Nor-Son is the best. We've never regretted our decision to build our new home with them in 2006. 1. Since they use the design-build concept the architect and the builders were always on the same page; both sat with us at every planning meeting. There was never a construction delay waiting for the architect to come to the site. 2. They put our dream into reality. They finished in only 10 months. 3. You get what you pay for; they insist on doing it right. We were 250 miles away from the site of our new home, but when details came up that we hadn't talked about in our meetings, they just did the right thing. 4. We had never built a home, but in the end, we could count on one hand the things we would change in our new home.

Our relationship with Nor-Son has been nothing short of delightful. Everyone we have worked with has been wonderful. We asked them to build us a lake home, finish a lower level and remodel parts of our home in the Twin Cities. Each experience was a homerun. Their eye to safety and their perfection orientation wowed us at every turn. Many of our friends told us how much we would regret building a new home. That was not our experience. Our time with Nor-Son was not only productive but may I say enjoyable. We would do it again if we can continue to work with this marvelous company. From Steve Rose to Chad Rushin, Lyle Johnson, Rob Larson, Adam Helmrichs, and Bill Roehl our interactions were professional and caring. We take pleasure in recommending Nor-Son to everyone we know.

We designed and built our lake home with Norson in 2009. What impressed me the most at the time of build is how they listened to us. Even when I had them change the eaves 4 times and got the look exactly to our liking. We just worked so well together. If we didn't think of it they did. It was a real partnership. The craftsman were fantastic. We put in a bead board ceiling with dramatic peaks. I still lay in bed and marvel at how gorgeous the ceilings turned out. We have had very few problems. Norson stands behind everything. They are up on the latest in design and value. We are still planning on adding our retirement home and look forward to working with Norson again.

NorSon installed an stunning custom railing system using the Feeney CableRail system. It exhibits the level of craftsmanship which they rise to. We are so pleased that they incorporated CableRail into this complex, elegant presentation.

From the beginning, Nor-Son built a trusting relationship and proved to be experienced when it comes to executing detailed design. Despite setbacks due to weather, they were able to stick to a challenging schedule and did so in an efficient and professional manner. Organization and attention to detail were held as a priority across the board from management to each subcontractor. We hired NorSon to design and build our vacation home in the lakes area of northern Minnesota and couldn't be happier. We had admired some of their projects featured in area publications and were impressed by a number of projects we saw (via their lawn signs) while driving around the area. We had heard stories from friends and acquaintances who had hired other area contractors only to find that they (or their subs) would go fishing or snowmobiling when the weather was good, despite promises to meet certain deadlines. But everything we heard about NorSon was good. Also influencing our decision to choose NorSon was the fact that I'm a design junkie who's concerned about design details, and we would be building our year-round lake home from a distance. With my husband and I both working full-time-plus and having 2 active boys, it was going to be impossible to make the two hour drive on a frequent basis, mid-week, for site inspections. Hence, we wanted to work with a reputable contractor known for having a good design eye, who doesn't cut corners, delivers on their promises, has enough clout to get the subs to show up on time, and takes pride in paying attention to every detail. NorSon fit the bill! We love our lake home! We've now spent many weekends there for 11 years, year-round, and it still looks like new--despite our sons running in and out as young kids with muddy feet and in wet swimsuits and, later, as teenagers and college students visiting with tons of friends in tow. Perhaps the best sign of our confidence in NorSon is the fact that we have since hired them three times to complete additional projects. They've designed and built a front stoop outside our main entrance in 2005, and finished our lower level in 2006 by adding 2 more bedrooms, a bath and rec room (all previously cut for budget purposes). And this past winter (January 2012), we hired NorSon, again, to build a detached double garage with overhead sleeping loft--strategically planned (by me) as a future attraction for our college boys, their (hopeful) future spouses and grandkids. If anyone's looking for a quality builder in the north/central Minnesota lakes area, we unconditionally recommend NorSon. They may be a little more expensive than other contractors, but it is WELL worth the investment! PS: My father and sister are both architects. Each time they visit our lake place they admire some of the interesting finish details, the quality of construction (top-notch), and the energy saving products and techniques NorSon employed. PSS: Ignore the furniture in the photos--just about all hand-me-downs. That's our next project! PSSS: My exterior photos of the cabin and detached garage (shown unfinished) are horrible! They were shot for insurance purposes in early spring (dead grass and no leaves on trees) with no outdoor furnishings or landscape. Yuck. They are motivating me to take some nice shots this summer!
