The solid wood bed is warm and inviting with a mid-century modern flair. Keeping your bedding white and crisp is timeless and clean, then adding wonderful accent pillows will pull in other materials and textures we love in boho/mid-century design. The rug also helps give warmth and comfort to your space. The nightstands will provide some personal storage for you and tie into the design of the desk. To keep the surface of a nightstand free of lamps when possible, so your sconces will be the perfect light source for you at bedtime. There are significant architectural elements in the bedroom that we wanted to highlight. Adding in accents of black metal ties the furnishings into the architecture, really giving the furnishings a sense of belonging. Finally, the full-length mirror is perfect for the bedroom, has an art deco vibe, and is essential for making the room look more spacious. The bench in front of the mirror helps visually ground the mirror, adds more texture to space, and is conveniently located to sit to take off your shoes at the end of a long day. Both the desk and the task lamp relate entirely back to the nightstands and again have the black metal accents. The desk chair is comfortable and stylish, the perfect blend of beauty and function. Adding shelving above the desk allows accessorize or add some essential work items up there. A hanging planter nearby gives you more plant life and visual height in the room, and of course, more great texture.

Mingle's custom designed cabinetry is on display throughout Stonewood’s 2018 Artisan Tour home. The Studio M Interiors team worked closely with the client to design, furnish and accessorize spaces inspired by east coast charm. The clean, traditional white kitchen features Dura Supreme inset cabinetry with a variety of storage drawer and cabinet accessories including fully integrated refrigerator and freezer and dishwasher doors and wine refrigerator. The scullery is right off the kitchen featuring inset glass door cabinetry and stacked appliances. The master suite displays a beautiful custom wall entertainment center and the master bath features two custom matching vanities and a freestanding bathtub and walk-in steam shower. The main level laundry room has an abundance of cabinetry for storage space and two custom drying nooks as well. An Upper West Side studio oasis decked out in ethereal, global, glam style. Originally a small, white box of an apartment with no personality, we infused the space with subtle prints and patterns, including hand-painted pinstriped walls and LABLstudio's own Gemma - Sapphire removable wallpaper, to create a relaxed yet layered feel. We accessorized the space with bold pops of color, using items like a magenta feather juju as wall art, and an eclectic mix of patterned pillows to tie it all together.

We removed three walls to open this kitchen up to the great room and breakfast area so the family and guests could visit while meals are being prepared. The custom cabinetry, designed by Bay Area Kitchens, was meticulously hand crafted to our exact specifications by Wood-Mode Custom Cabinetry in Kreamer, PA. A medium gray stain was applied to the solid walnut 1" thick doors and drawer fronts. The cabinets were designed and accessorized to maximize storage space and convenient access, including various sizes and depths of drawers, pull-out racks, tray dividers and a heavy-duty mixer base. The built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator, combination convection steam oven and single convection oven, 48" rangetop with six dual burners plus a flat-top griddle, and microwave drawer are the heart of this true gourmet kitchen. Appropriate appliances are Wi-Fi connected for maximum convenience. Topping off the custom cabinetry are Cambria quartz countertops, plus two solid walnut countertops with "live" edges by Grothouse. We also installed an automated LED lighting system including cabinet interior lighting, under-cabinet lighting, and LED recessed cans, all controlled by Lutron's RadioRA wireless lighting control system. All the lighting can be controlled by any of the five wall panels, or by an iPhone or iPad. The cabinets are also equipped with an integrated stereo sound system completely concealed within the cabinets. The living room opens up into the kitchen where there is a statement island that is accessorized with a Sea Pearl Quartzite that is set off by the beautiful backsplash and modern, white cabinets. The counter top is a waterfall mitered edge that covers the entire front of the island.

It’s been said that when you dream about a house, the basement represents your subconscious level. Perhaps that was true in the past, when basements were often neglected. But in most of today’s new builds and remodels, lower levels are becoming valuable living spaces. If you’re looking at building or renovating, opening up that lower level with sufficient light can add square footage and value to your home. In addition, having access to bright indoor areas can help combat cabin fever, which peaks in late winter. Looking at the photos here, you’d never know what you’re seeing is a lower level. That’s because a smart builder knew that bringing natural light into the space was key. Our job, in furnishing the space, was to make the most of that light. The off-white walls and light grey carpet provide a good base. A grey sectional sofa with clean, modern lines easily fits into the spacious room. It’s an ideal piece to encourage people to spend time together. The strong, forgiving linen resists staining, and like a blank canvas this true neutral allows for accessorizing with various throws and pillows depending on the season. The cream-colored throw echoes the light colors in the space, while the nubby pillow adds a textured contrast.

This little guy was growing out of his crib and changing table and needed an update to his room. His parents are avid golfers and he in turn has picked up the sport. His parents requested a room that he can grow in to, so the space will last many years before having to redesign it again. His mom suggested a golf theme room and I loved the idea, so we rolled with it. We kept the original plantation shutters and millwork and built a toddler-friendly space he can enjoy for years and years. I had my muralist paint an argyle wall to set the tone. I used new custom furniture combined with some store bought pieces. Accessorizing the space was a fun task. Instead of using store bought items, I had some custom wall art made for him to personalize the space. I had his great grandmother’s golf clubs mounted onto graphic green and white fabric studded with chrome nailheads. An Etsy seller made us a custom metal piece with all their favorite golf brands. Another Etsy seller made us wall hooks fashioned from golf balls. No golf theme room would be complete without a putting green, so had one of those thrown in to so he can practice his putts. He now loves his new room and enjoys spending time in there (not to mention now sleeping in there too!).
