My clients asked me to install a direct vent fireplace. They did not want a kit mantle. They had read an article in the Plain Dealer about antique shops that salvage old mantles and lumber. They traveled over to Lorain road to search the antique shops and found this mantel in the top photo. This photo shows the repaired and finished mantel. It was a challenge to make this mantel meet the clearance required by the manufacturer, but with some engineering we were able to do so. The old mantel adds much character to the room. Klar and Klar worked with Search2Close to design their Florida location on the corner of Gulf to Bay Blvd and Keene Road as an elevated industrial office space to further enhance the closing experience. Our team reinvented this 1200 s.f space from a dilapidated mechanic shop to chic office space. The re-invention of this space leaned into the existing industrial qualities such as concrete floors, now exposed and polished. This office space is an effortless combination of glass and wood adding to a comfortable atmosphere with natural light pouring in through glass panels and windows. A welcome addition to this office space is the new covered patio, the best option for parties and those lingering goodbyes after client signings. The patio features a custom designed concrete table with recessed lettering for the Search2Close logo, a “welcome home” message and other photo opportunities.

Dramatic modern addition to a 1950's colonial. The project program was to include a Great Room and first floor Master Suite. While the existing home was traditional in many of its components, the new addition was to be modern in design, spacious, open, lots of natural light, and bring the outside in. The new addition has 10’ ceilings. A sloped light monitor extends the height of the Great Room to a 13’+ ceiling over the great room, 8’ doors, walls of glass, minimalist detailing and neutral colors.
