The AIM ceiling light was designed by the Bouroullec brothers in 2010. The AIM is a form of modern pendant lighting that is constructed from a varnished aluminum sheet with a photo-etched optical polycarbonate shade and an internal reflector of a photo-etched ABS. The cable can be adjusted to allow the fixture head and light distribution to be aimed. The cable has a total length of 29 ft 5 inches (9m) allowing the lamp to be suspended up to 9 ft 8inches (3m) from the ceiling.

The removal of shutters and the enlargement of existing windows with modern frames and thermal glass enhanced the home’s visual appeal, increased interior natural light, and improved energy efficiency, contributing to the overall well-being of the homeowners. Gone are the days of painted-shut windows; the new windows now open smoothly, bringing a refreshing change! In keeping with the original design of the house, Revolve maintained the existing second-floor porch along the front, eliminating the picket railing and traditional molding. These elements were replaced with square columns and a minimalist custom horizontal metal railing system. Additionally, the team thoughtfully enhanced the continuous masonry façade by removing sections of brick and replacing them with a contemporary wood rainscreen. This adjustment added depth to what was previously a flat elevation and tied together areas of the house that were re-clad from vinyl siding to wood plank. The design team also redefined the geometry of the multiple rooflines and third-floor dormers to create a cohesive overall design. Carefully selected paint and stain colors added warmth and dimension to the updated exterior. Modern elements were introduced into the outdoor space, resulting in a cozy outdoor living area complete with a gas-powered fireplace and a large-screen TV—perfect for enjoying Ravens games with friends and family.

Modern Dining & Living Room Accent Lighting This new construction modern style residence is located in a Mid-Town Tulsa neighborhood. The dining/living room has 18-foot ceilings with beautiful, aged wooden beams, and a textural stone fireplace as a wall divider between the two rooms. The owners have a wonderful art collection with clean simple modern furniture accents in both rooms. My lighting approach was to reflected light off the art, stone texture fireplace and aged wooden beams to fill the rooms with light. With the high ceiling, it is best to specify a 15-watt LED adjustable recess fixture. As shown in the images, this type of fixture allows me to aim a specific beam diameter to accent various sizes of art and architectural details. The color of light is important! For this project the art consultant requested a warm color temperature. I suggested a 3000-kelvin temperature with a high-color rendering index number that intensifies the color of the art. This color of light resembles a typical non-LED light used in table lamps. After aiming all the lighting, the owner said this lighting project was his best experience he'd had working with a lighting designer. The outcome of the lighting complimented his esthetics as he hoped it would!
