The inspiration for the Dune began with the simple idea to seamlessly connect the kitchen to the living space. Dune is a unique contemporary kitchen cabinet design without handles. It is defined by asymmetrically curved base units and echoing flowing forms found in nature. Opening is achieved by a groove on the edge of the extra thick 23mm front panel (base units) or by a vertical aluminum profile (tall units). Drawers in the curved units allow Pedini to offer this remarkable Italian kitchen design without compromising the environment, ergonomics or functionality.
Dune contemporary kitchens offer a high component of adaptability and individual variations, which allows room for harmony between the functional aspects of the house. Dune truly adapts to the nature of it’s surrounding.
Soft technology. Contemporary House with Ultra Slim Sliding Glass Doors on the ground floor and first floor bedrooms. When these large sliding glass doors are open they give the owner a large open aperture and seamless transition to their outdoor living space.

Client desire:
Bring back the original splendor of the master bathroom in her 1905 four-square mansion, including a low profile bathtub for her mother, a separate shower for herself, and plenty of storage.
Design challenges:
The bathroom had been part of a poorly constructed 1960’s addition with a narrow passage and a substandard foundation resulting in a room that was always too cold. The original part of the house had a foot of concrete for the sub-flooring so we were unsure about the ability to move fixtures. The window size and location had to remain fixed due to architectural details on the outside of the home.
Solutions:
We removed the addition subfloor to repair the weak footings and added closed cell insulation. We widened the passage and added a floor to ceiling armoire and shallow base cabinets with a curved end for storage. Inside one of the base cabinets we concealed a new larger radiator and we added in-floor heat. Functionality and flow were improved by switching the placement of the vanity and bathtub. The arched doors throughout the house were the inspiration for the curved glass shower door, arched medicine cabinet, and curved cabinetry. The antique wall sconces were purchased by the homeowner on her quest to find lighting in keeping with the era of the home. But the pièce de résistance is the beautiful Carrera marble and basket weave tile flooring achieved by a master tilesetter who worked meticulously to create the perfect result from my design.

A detailed view of the sculptural platform bed without the mattress, showcasing its curved wooden frame, integrated headboard and supportive slatted base. The smooth flowing profile brings an organic modern aesthetic to the bedroom while the clean construction reflects Scandinavian and contemporary design principles.

This kitchen's countertops have Blue Fire granite with a polished finish..
Search "blue fire" granite, see more granite of this family or other stone options: http://www.stoneaction.com
Learn more about granite to see if it’s right for you:
Granite countertops can last a lifetime. It contains no harmful chemicals and do not emit harmful radiation or gasses. Granite is heat resistant and is one of the most heat-resistant countertops on the market. You can place a hot pan out of the oven directly onto the countertop surface. Experts do recommend the use of a trivet when using appliances that emit heat for long periods of time, such as crockpots. Since the material is so dense, there is a small possibility heating one area of the top and not the entire thing, could cause the countertop to crack.
Granite is scratch resistant. You can cut on it, but it will dull your knives! Granite scores a seven on Moh’s hardness scale.
Granite countertops are considered to be a low maintenance countertop surface. The likelihood of needing to be repaired or resurfaced is low. Granite is a porous material. Most fabricators will apply a sealer to granite countertops before they are installed which will protect them from absorbing liquids too quickly. Many sealers last more than 10 years before needing to be reapplied. When they do need to be reapplied, it is something that most homeowners can do on their own as the process is similar to cleaning. Darker granites are very dense and sometimes don’t even require a sealer.
When it comes to pricing, there are a lot of variables such as edge profile, total square footage, backsplash, etc. Don’t be fooled by the stereotype that all granite is expensive. Lower-range granites will cost less than high-range laminate. Though granite countertops are not considered “low range” in pricing, there are a lot of affordable options.
If you are looking for something truly unique, consider an exotic granite. Some quarries are not easily accessible and/or only able to be quarried for short periods of time throughout the year. If these circumstances exist in a quarry with gorgeous stone, the price will be driven upward.
You won’t find a lot of solid patterns or bright colors, but both do exist. Also, watch for a large range of color and pattern within the same color of stone. It’s always a good idea to view the exact slab(s) that will be fabricated for your kitchen to make sure they are what you expected to see from the sample. Another factor is that many exotic types of granite have huge flowing waves, and a small sample will not be an accurate representation of the whole slab.
Granite countertops are very resistant to chemicals. Acids and bases will not harm the material.

Dynamic shades of gray and cream with flecks of golden copper are showcased on the Cambria Windermere 3cm quartz displayed on the countertops of this large center work island. A Ledge profile edge was used to complement the quartz surface and beaded back panel adds a decorative touch to the Mid Continent Cabinetry. The large center work island features a built in microwave, base trash unit and stainless steel prep sink. Cabinetry base is enhanced with a beaded panel backer.

A restyling of the iconic and consolidated Alea model, Alea Pro is characterized by the most marked expressiveness. A redefinition of the details reinterprets the linear design of the original system, in particular of the opening channels, underlined by a profile that emphasizes the vertical and horizontal lines. The door design with a chamfered upper edge and handle profile matched to the channel is new, as is the detail of the spaced side panel, which gives a lighter look to the base units. The display doors for base units, wall units, and tall units create plays of transparency that give rhythm to the composition. The result is a kitchen system that combines a very high operational capacity with a contemporary look, to be customized with a very wide range of materials and finishes.
