Renovisions was contacted by a client who purchased a home from one of their former customers. Apparently, they loved the kitchen and bathroom projects completed by Renovisions and thought to seek no further when faced with a bathroom plumbing leak at the tub area in the bath that had not been remodeled. After water damaged the existing floor and leaked into the kitchen below, they found the need to undergo a complete full bath ‘Renovision’. The challenge was to complete the project before our client had her baby.
Assisting the client with the insurance claim was the first order of business, then onto the enjoyable process of selecting products based on an agreed upon design. A deeper soaking tub, ample vanity storage and brighter, low maintenance materials were top of mind. We tailored a design plan to fit our clients budget and what they found most appealing. A beautiful oak vanity with a dark stain looks stunning with the light Carrera-look countertop and wood-look plank-styled slip resistant flooring. The decorative chrome mirror and blue-green hue on the walls soften the overall look of the space and provides a spa-like feel. The deeper tub not only allows our client to bath her newborn with ease but also to relax and pamper herself after a long day of work.
“Thank you for everything! My husband and I are very excited about this project, it came out beautiful! Choosing all the products right from your showroom was an amazing experience.”

Cramped, uncomfortable, and out of date: when the owners of this home approached us about renovating their kitchen and adjoining sunroom, these were high on their list of complaints.
OPENING UP THE KITCHEN
Our plan kept the kitchen in the same location but took down the walls between both the dining room and the sunroom to create an expansive multi-purpose space with spectacular views to conservation land along the back of the property. We removed the powder room and in its place created a window-lined hallway to the living room—opening up direct access between these two previously disconnected spaces. We then built a new half bath between these two rooms, with a door along the back hallway. The result is a more private powder room that is easier to access than before.
Significantly improved cabinetry provides ample storage for both human and canine needs. An island countertop is functional and pleasant, enabling the owners to prep for and clean up from dinner all while enjoying the view of the woods behind their house.
CREATING COMFORT
We also completely rebuilt the sunroom, thickening the framing to allow for extra insulation and raising the roof to accommodate a higher ceiling and tall windows that let in as much natural light as the skylights they replaced, but much less of the solar gain that had made the room so intolerable in the summer.
We improved visual connections between spaces and admitted more natural light by converting the framing of the main stairway from full to half walls. We also insulated the attic and replaced an aging, inefficient central air conditioning system with ductless minisplit heat pumps, which can also be used as supplemental heat.
All in all, this was our kind of project: we made the home more attractive, more comfortable, and more energy-efficient—all over the course of a single, well-integrated project.

This firepit was being designed and constructed in anticipation of a new residence being built on a level, three+ acre site on Lake Michigan just north of Port Washington, Wisconsin. This beautiful site is just three steps above lake level which is unique in this area where most home sites have 200' bluffs and no lake access. Although the new residence had not been designed yet, we understood due to the new homes expected size, we had to develop a larger than normal and unique firepit.
This is the original conceptual sketch we developed while standing on site with the client (prior to us using sketchbook Pro on our ipad). The existing firepit was very poorly built and conceived design.
We wanted to have a firepit which was large enough to allow 12 or more people to comfortably sit around the firepit and enjoy an evening under the stars along Lake Michigan. The firepit is a seven foot diameter, 1,200 lb., cast iron sugar kettle from North Carolina. We allowed another 11' of distance between the edge of the sugar kettle and the surrounding plantings to allow for large adirondack chairs and ample room to walk between the firepit and the chairs comfortably.
In addition, we built a firewood stacking area with followed the curve of the firepit and was retained with 4x4 cedar posts with copper caps.
And to blend this into the rip/rap and new gardens the firepit area is embraced with Bayberry, ornamental grasses, roses and colorful perennials. All of the planting beds in this project are irrigated with drip irrigation to insure efficient delivery of water to a site which has sandy soil and high winds at times.

This is a custom one-of-a-kind shotgun / rifle locker designed to be concealed within a closet cabinet. The door and all sides are 1 1/2" thick maple. It is secured by a wi-fi push button deadbolt that is integrated with the alarm system of the home. The deadbolt will be unlocked if the panic button of the alarm system key fob is pushed, for quick access to the guns. Also, if the locker is tampered with or if the door is opened forcefully, a text message and e-mail will be sent to the homeowners. A pair of Hafele LED lights mounted in the top of the locker provide ample lighting and are controlled by a push button switch mounted at the bottom left. The door swings on Tectus 240 concealed double mortise hinges. There is a drawer for ammo and accessories. The barrel rest is lined with suede which covers rare earth magnets to hold the barrel of each gun tightly against the rest.
