The project began with audio/visual and Internet work. We installed four high-end Samsung large-screen 4K TVs throughout the condo, hung on four Peerless ultra-slim full-motion mounts with no exposed cables and all equipment hidden from view. We then added two Niels infrared signal extenders to allow control of the hidden A/V equipment from most areas of the condo, and two Sonos amplifiers to ensure high-quality audio throughout. And for uninterrupted, high-speed Internet connectivity for all devices throughout the home, we installed Apple Airport Extreme WiFi access points with 802.11ac support.

Here, a kitchen opens onto the main living space with vaulted ceiling and painted decking. Large scale lighting amplifies the sloped ceiling height. In the background, an open railing leads to a full basement below. This home is traditionally finished, with a minimum of extra crown and trim. Hard lines and square counter edges make this a crisp but traditional look.

The grandly scaled custom head board and footboard are upholstered in black velvet with a textural, wavy texture and a gleaming silvery frame that says "modern living." I amplified the silver accents in the open-style side lamps and drawer pulls.

AIA Design Excellence Recognition, this is a refined, light-filled architectural intervention that amplifies space, daylight, and connection while complimenting the site’s integrity. Working entirely within the existing foundation, the design introduces a layered, multifunctional program: two guest rooms, an office, basketball gym, media room, and entertaining kitchen. Each space flows into the next, supporting varied uses without feeling compartmentalized. Skylights above the stair, clerestory windows over the gym, and floor-to-ceiling glass draw daylight deep into the plan, transforming rooms into bright, engaging living spaces.
