An unused space contained weeds and Arborvitae that has struggled where the sun was blocked. The area was cleared, the Arborvitae limbed up and a path created.

This Boerum Hill, Brooklyn backyard features a bluestone patio, paver stone retaining wall, horizontal cedar fencing with a plexiglass border at the top, the Eos dining table from DWR, hornbeam trees, arborvitaes, and purple fountain grasses. The hardscape is well balanced with greenery. To ensure privacy from the back alley, arbovitae were planted along the perimeter. At the back of the garden, an outbuilding is the ideal spot for a studio or supplemental office space. Modern furnishings highlight the architecture and lend a crisp contrast in color.
