The latter of which is due to the husband’s trade, he reviews liquor. Storage was imperative—a total of 6 (3 shown) custom millwork pieces were built to either hide or display their collections. And both color and black and white palettes appealed to this couple. Color adorned ceilings and floors to allow for unhindered visibility of their retro collection of art and articles. In the case of the monochromatic bathrooms, I found ways to add a unique touch—to honor the spirit of the homeowners.

Two antique doors - on the outside, a rustic antique red painted door acts as a protective storm door for the second antique entry door within. WKD’s experience in historic preservation and antique curation restored this gentleman’s farm into a casual, comfortable, livable home for the next chapter in this couple’s lives. The project included a new family entrance and mud room, new powder room, and opening up some of the rooms for better circulation. While WKD curated the client’s existing collection of art and antiques, refurbishing where necessary, new furnishings were also added to give the home a new lease on life. The Accordia Project This Stirling Prize-winning new build project (2009) used Rundum Original side-sliding timber garage doors on more than 60 properties. Rundum Meir worked closely with the architects to achieve their required design intent, using hand selected rift-sawn clear larch. The garage doors featured on the front cover of the Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) The List ’09 publication. Rundum Meir were also mentioned in a Sunday Times article about the Accordia project. The article commended architects Alison Brooks and Maccreanor Lavington for ‘doing something epochal: they have made garage doors look good.
