These homeowners already had a finished basement, but found that they didn’t utilize the space well. Other than as a play area for the kids, the large space wasn’t welcoming for entertaining. Already happy with previous service they’d received from The Cabinet Store (laundry room cabinet storage!) they turned to us to help them give their basement a “grown-up feel.” Though they already had a large TV and some sitting furniture, the room needed an entertaining area. Here’s what we accomplished (see the photos below): We designed two bar areas for them, using cabinetry from our Countryside Cabinetry line – affordable and attractive. The cabinet doors are the Lancaster style in Birch with a Brownberry stain. We used a combination of flat center panel doors and beaded center panel doors to jazz it up. We also installed brand new Cambria (color Buckingham) on all the countertop surfaces. The homeowners (and all their friends!) love the new basement. And though it seems contrary, we’re not surprised that everyone tells them the room feels so much bigger even though we’ve added cabinetry and countertops to the space – if you use space well a room always seems more inviting. Best of all, this family is finally making great use of their basement!

This clean cut kitchen stemmed from the design challenge to place a contemporary kitchen in a traditional Tudor style house in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Our client was a self-described city person living in the country - who wanted an urban contemporary feeling incorporated into her home. She says she waited many years to find the right design team who understood her vision! Not wanting to ignore the beautiful 50 year old oaks outside her window, Advance Design transformed her traditional kitchen into an urban kitchen utopia with the use of texture and earthy finishes keeping with the feel of the existing home. Dura Supreme Bria frameless cabinets with a soft pillowed door works to incorporate a woodsy feel in shades of grey textured foil appropriately called “Twig”. Aluminum framed opaque glass doors are hinged with a lift up Aventos hinge for a contemporary twist and a super-functional opening. Brushed nickel hardware in various sizes keeps with the clean line feel. To keep the design organic and “fit it in” with the rest of the house, we covered the floor with a natural looking travertine porcelain laid on a 45 degree angle simulating a more traditional feel in a neutral tone of silvery-brown. The backsplash is clean and crisp with large Carrera marble tiles in a brick pattern, and a splash of energy from a vertical marble and glass mosaic accent. We then finished off the look with clean Cambria Torquay countertops portraying minimal patterning to keep the work surfaces feeling uncluttered and open. Other areas of the home were addressed to “blend” the style in with lightly distressed grey tone hardwood floors and a “matching” renovated powder room displaying contemporary features to compliment the nearby kitchen’s style. Over the course of six weeks we took their home from slightly outdated to stylishly modern. We began our work in the kitchen. Their existing space included oak raised panel cabinets and laminate countertops. We identified two problems right off the bat. First, the kitchen was home to an unfortunately placed island that broke up the room and made for horrible traffic flow. Second, the family was “oaked out,” with obviously dated oak cabinets abounding. The homeowners also requested that their countertops be replaced with a durable and low-maintenance material. To begin, we replaced the island and created a peninsula to open up the kitchen. We upgraded the cabinets with Showplace Wood cherry cabinets in a truffle finish that matched the home’s entertainment center in the adjacent living room. Next, we replaced the family’s door with a Showplace Wood Concord style for a more modern feel. Finally, we swapped the existing laminate counters with Cambria natural quartz countertops in the Canterbury finish for a beautiful, maintenance free work surface. Moving into the laundry room, we installed matching cabinets in this space as well. Last but not least, we installed new Wilsonart HD countertops and a Swanstone sink. With the remodel complete, we checked in with our homeowners and are happy to report pleased customers all around!

Try to choose authors whom you can trust. Maybe you’ve heard about them at the lessons. But you can’t use some online resources where no authors’ names are mentioned. But there are too many sources, I hope. That’s why you should use as much as possible. It will show that you work hard and found too many sources for your paper. Create the special part for the list of sources in your research paper. So as you see research paper is like a term paper, but it is more serious. That’s why you should not be lazy, and try to do your best for the excellent results. The Accordia Project This Stirling Prize-winning new build project (2009) used Rundum Original side-sliding timber garage doors on more than 60 properties. Rundum Meir worked closely with the architects to achieve their required design intent, using hand selected rift-sawn clear larch. The garage doors featured on the front cover of the Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) The List ’09 publication. Rundum Meir were also mentioned in a Sunday Times article about the Accordia project. The article commended architects Alison Brooks and Maccreanor Lavington for ‘doing something epochal: they have made garage doors look good.
