The Swarovski crystal ball-shaped #chandelier becomes a beautiful centerpiece for this dining room, which we painted with mirror reflection #lacquer paint in Emerald from our preferred supplier, @sherwinwilliams . #swcolorlove ✨ . The round cream rug is courtesy of @houseofrugs, and all three #paintings on set were uniquely designed by the best framing manufacturer in the United States - Classy Art. Classy Art assisted us in developing a 3D frame for all of the paintings pictured above, negating the need for glass! . The beautiful tall house #plant in the corner is from @tallplants - a big thanks to Christopher for finding and sourcing the best plants from around the world. The custom-made turquoise candles were supplied by Florida's @thebestcandles, centrepieces were provided by @kuhllinscomb, and the black #drapes were created by our very own drapery team . Lastly, the silver standing candelabras and #furniture collection are all courtesy of Cantoni... creating a stunning and stylish living room that any guest would envy!

Welcome to the Evergreen Avenue Kitchen Design project, a stunning example of AJX Design Co.'s expertise in material selection for kitchen design. The client approached us for assistance with cabinet color and style, as well as with selecting the perfect backsplash and countertop for their new home. Our team worked closely with the client to bring their vision to life, resulting in a beautiful and functional kitchen that perfectly complements their new home.

Designed by Akram Aljahmi of Reico Kitchen & Bath in King of Prussia, PA in collaboration with Maccs Construction, this transitional kitchen features Ultracraft Cabinetry in the door style Shaker in Walnut with a warming Natural finish. The kitchen countertops are Hanstone Quartz in the color Serenity with an Eased Edge. The kitchen also features a Lungarno Finish Line Undulated 3x12 Vanilla tile backsplash. “I absolutely love my new kitchen and the way everything goes so well together. My countertops are beautiful and the entire layout provides the maximum amount of storage I so desperately needed,” said the client. “I love the amount of cabinets I have, making use of every available space, so clean and open. Our client's childhood memories of summer fun in her parents' pool and family time on Long Beach Island, NJ is what she wanted to recreate for her own children in the comfort of their backyard. The client's wish list included a pool that was versatile for all ages and activities. We teamed up with Liquidscapes to assist with the pool design process to ensure functionality and quality was achieved. The saltwater pool has a swim lane, sun-shelf, deck jets, built-in seating and a raised spa with an 8' spillway! The pool deck is built with limestone, which remains cool in the hot sun. A custom pavilion cantilevers the deep end of the pool serving as a shady poolside lounge. The wavy garden beds were designed to complement the freeform shape of the pool. The landscape consists of multi-layered magnolias, ilex, and cryptomeria to ensure privacy year round. Fagus, lagerstroemia, and cotinus add in-season privacy, color, and contrast. The large garden beds are filled with lush hydrangeas, perennials, perennial grasses, and ferns. During our presentation for the front of the property, which is the final phase of this project, our client said to us: "Over the years we have dealt with many design and build companies and we're very happy we finally found one that is a pleasure to work with and cares about delivering high quality results.”

He explains: “Our home was constructed in 1915 and the last remodel was done in the late 1960s. We were looking to update the design and make the kitchen more function and modern. We needed more counterspace, more storage space, and better placement of appliances to make the kitchen easier to use” he says. “Before the remodel, most of our pots and pans were in an unlit blind corner cabinet, which meant that it was almost impossible to find the pot we needed!” To remedy this, William chose IKEA BODBYN doors and drawer fronts in off-white — including some glass fronts —to fit with IKEA’s SEKTION cabinetry framework. Notably, he installed the cabinets and did the rest of the kitchen work himself. However, he wasn’t entirely without design assistance. That is where IKD’s design team came in. He explains: “My wife and I knew the basics of what IKEA styles we wanted for our kitchen, but also knew that we wanted to reconfigure our kitchen to make it more functional. IKD offered us a simple way to get a professional design that we could use for our kitchen, without having to pay an in-person designer (and likely get stuck with a contractor). Plus, I was pleased by some of the other kitchens that I saw that IKD had designed.” To that end, the kitchen is complemented by an array of IKEA appliances as well, including the IKEA NUTID French Door Refrigerator (Freezer Bottom) with Dispenser; the IKEA NUTID Self-Cleaning Convection Oven; the IKEA NUTID Built-In Microwave; IKEA FRAMTID five-burner stovetop, as well as a Whirlpool dishwasher. And it was all achieved within a budget of $15k-$18k, he adds. William concludes: “With the new kitchen, pots and pans are stored directly below the cooktop, spices next to the cooking area, storage bins next to the fridge, dinnerware above the dishwasher and sink. Everything is now near the places where it is used and the IKEA drawers make access much easier.” Let’s see how William’s kitchen came together!

During the day, these large glass features are an asset, flooding entryways and foyers with beautiful natural daylight. However, for homes situated on busy local roads or highly trafficked street-level lots, the dynamic completely changes once the sun goes down. The moment interior lights are switched on in the evening, a stark contrast is created with the dark outdoors. This creates a severe privacy issue, leaving the entire foyer completely exposed to passing traffic and pedestrians. Finding a solution that delivers absolute evening privacy without permanently plunging the front entrance into darkness during the day requires understanding how modern window treatment materials and operating systems interact. Light-Filtering vs. Blackout Fabrics The first step in solving street-level privacy is selecting the correct fabric type. To a person standing out on the street or driving by on a busy road, the view inside is completely obstructed, delivering total privacy when the family is home for the evening. We recently worked with a homeowner in Sherrills Ford whose beautiful new construction property sat on a highly trafficked road. They loved their double wide front door entrance but felt entirely too exposed to the street at night. We brought our mobile showroom directly to their driveway. This allowed us to hold up premium light-filtering fabric samples directly against their entryway glass, matching the materials perfectly to their home's natural lighting, interior paint, and trim before making a single cut. To solve their street-level privacy issue, we custom-built and installed two matching light-filtering roller shades, mounting them flawlessly side-by-side above the front door frame. To keep the home’s interior design completely cohesive, we carried the exact same style to the back of the house, installing a matching single roller shade on the rear door. Smart Home Window Automation at Your Fingertips Because entryway windows can be tall and awkward to reach manually, our family team integrated advanced smart-home motorization into this Sherrills Ford project. Beyond the convenience of a handheld remote control, these automated roller shades feature seamless Wi-Fi integration.
