A Venetian mirror reflects the hallway beyond the bedroom and was bought at Harrods in London. Glamorous silk drapes are from Colefax & Fowler and the antique lime washed chair comes from Lots Road Auctions Chelsea.

This 5BD / 3BA home was purchased by our client in an auction, after a year of being unoccupied. This 1st Phase scope included updating 3 bathrooms, interior & exterior paint, a complete lighting plan, converting their wood-burning fireplace to an electric fireplace; adding LED-lit wood paneling to the fireplace wall, and curating, procuring and placing furnishings, linens, and some decor pieces throughout the home. After the dining room chandelier is installed, we will have our professional “after” photo session. The Client’s design vision is “Pacific Northwest Vibe” for this personal chef concept Airbnb. The 2nd Phase will include updating the flooring and kitchen.

The goal was to create an intimate dining area overlooking the great room. We painted the black cabinets a green to bring out the green already in the kitchen countertops. We added the light fixture over the table to create better lighting surrounding the guests. The farmhouse table came from auction in LA and the chairs were also new. We added matching bar stools at the kitchen counter.

This Austin Barkitecture entry fits beautifully at its new home near downtown Austin. This stunning dog house was auctioned off for charity at the annual event.

"Lick Mansion", the Austin Barkitecture Entry from the team at RRS Design + Build, makes its way to its new home. The dog house was auctioned off for charity and the proceeds benefited local rescue groups.

This home in Redmond Ridge sat vacant until our client acquired it at an auction. She updated the kitchen, painted and made the home look like new. She then hired NewVue Design to lightly stage the living, dining, kitchen, master bedroom and bath to complete the transformation.

Katherine grew up in southern Vermont, on the Connecticut River where her parents were sheep farmers. She has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Spanish and holds a master’s degree in Liberal Studies. She was able to combine her love for the arts, literature and theory with a burgeoning interest in understanding residential design and the built environment while researching her master’s project. Katherine believes the way our environments are designed impact who we are, our local histories, and whether we are able to lead fulfilling lives. Her driving force is people; seeing how teamwork can build something from nothing, witnessing the pride people show for their work, as well as sharing in positive feedback and professional growth.
Katherine spends her free time organizing furniture, beautifying spaces, reading novels, birdwatching, watching British/foreign spy and crime drama, and going to auctions. Her favorite destination is Home (southern Vermont) and she would love to visit Australia again. Her guilty pleasures are reading Harry Bosch detective novels, eating chewy candy or fruit snacks. A fun fact about Katherine: she cuts her own hair.

Updated green front door with some structural repairs and a fresh green color. A $40 auction find (oriental rug) moved outside for fall and winter (after the rains and before the snows) along with some fresh from the potager pumpkins!

Our client had a French background and loved color. We focused on fusing antiques I found at auctions along with new contemporary pieces with a lot of color and style. As the kids are growing we wanted to have pieces that would work in a down-sized home or condo down the road.

Feature WALL in the Dining Room >
This feature wall was designed to 'grow' over time on the base of 'plant' wall decals and a gorgeous wood and iron shelving unit from Crate & Barrel.
With the constant additions of both faux and real plants, useful daily kitchen wares and vintage collections, this wall will beautifully evolve the more it's used.
In the meantime, the addition of a dozen candle holders make it a focal point during dinner parties - and a great conversation piece!

The angled island provides plenty of counter surface and storage. The narrow hutch is a family heirloom which does not block the light from the adjacent window. The butcher block was an auction find that serves as a coffee bar. The plate rack was custom made and the large cleaver above the window was a flea market find.
