Custom, luxurious window treatments which have been tailored to the highest standards are a particular speciality for Grunberger Interiors.
The market is filled with bland, cookie cutter fabric and trim offerings provided by retailers who are salespeople first and designers second. The results are boring and uninspired, and all too often leave the homeowner feeling that something's still missing in their home's design.
Window treatments are so much more than a means to gain privacy and light filtration. Whilst this is very important, before you rush to cover up your windows, you should instead be thinking about how these coverings could be an important vehicle to realize your home's potential and make a powerful design statement.
My approach is to always think out of the box to develop fabric design schemes that are truly unique and eye catching. They tell a story of who you are and what you love. You won't find these selections and combinations at your local store. Your home's decor will shine and your experience of your spaces will be enhanced.
The process begins with my window treatment and soft furnishings consultation, which is a comprehensive design working design session filled with exiting ideas, inspiration and solutions. I bring a bespoke tray of carefully curated fabrics, trims, and wallpaper - your introduction to a world of possibilities.
After a design direction has been established, I will source beautiful fabrics and trims from a variety of trade resources, including the prestigious D&D building in Manhattan.
We shall reconvene and have an enjoyable, creative exchange of ideas and determine the perfect design scheme for each room. Professional measuring, frequent liaison with my bespoke workroom to ensure that every last detail has been addressed, followed by expert installation completes the design process.

Some remodeling customers are uncertain about the best way to change the look of their space, and turn to us at Kitchen Magic for guidance; other homeowners already have a clear idea of what they want, and ask us to make their vision a reality. The latter was very much the case in a recent remodeling project we completed in Milford, New Jersey.
The home had been designed by the homeowner, who was clearly accustomed to creating and implementing an artistic vision for their living space. By the time Kitchen Magic arrived on the scene, the homeowner already had clear ideas about the colors and materials that would go into creating the look of their new kitchen. Cabinet refacing was the perfect solution for staying within budget, yet still having the kitchen they had always dreamed of.
Building on the Existing Decor is Key
The sleek, black appliances already in place demanded a bold complement, and the rich, deep hue of Cordovan on Cherry stain fit the bill perfectly. The arched cabinet doors add a classic touch of elegance, but one that blends seamlessly with the modern feel of the other design elements. The clean lines and chrome finish of the cabinet hardware serve to unite the vivid cherry cabinetry with the gray toned counters and backsplash.
That backsplash, a custom design envisioned by the homeowner, brings both unity and contrast to the entire space. The splashes of lighter values brighten the deep red tones of the cabinets, keeping the room from feeling too dark. The use of texture and varied tonal values create a unique piece that adds dimension to the kitchen's personality and reflects the creative energy of the homeowners.
The luxury of the deep cherry-red cabinets and the sleekly modern lines of the furnishings create a timeless and bold back drop for the counters, and only one stone perfectly fits that bill: granite! The black Uba Tuba granite countertops chosen by the homeowners have the visual weight and richness to pair with the Cordovan on Cherry, and the marbling of lighter and darker values echo of the custom-designed backsplash over the range, completing the new design.
Taken together, the effect of the homeowners' choices create a striking, elegant, and almost decadent feel without any heavy or dark characters. The sleek lines and organic look created by the arched cabinet doors give the room a sense of grace and motion that is entirely appropriate to the homeowners' aesthetic, given their fondness for the adventure of hot-air ballooning and active life style.

Another view of the French doors in this elegant Living Room. The valances were fabricated using a fabric the client had previously purchased. As it was a very soft fabric, extra hand-sewing was needed for the fixed pleats at the hems. At the top of the valances, contrasting key tassels bring in the coral tones found in the cut velvet chairs and tapestries. The valances can be raised to open the doors, but soften the door frames. Soft green paint colors, slightly deeper on the fireplace brick and lighter on the walls and in the back of the bookcases which flank the fireplace, were selected to complement the fabric color. Clear-View Silhouettes from Hunter Douglas allow the outside in, expanding the space of this compact and cozy Living Room. Even our large flirty Betty Boop is admiring the finished design. The toilets are all dual flush, and the other fixtures are low flow. The paints are zero VOC, and any hardwoods are FSC certified.

Bedroom - guest carpeted bedroom idea in Other with blue walls

So this is one of my Guest Rooms. I love using twin beds in a Bedroom (although it can be pricey – two of everything!). I found these vintage iron bed frames from one of my favorite vendors. I wanted to lots of layers of bedding so I have two duvets – one on the bed and one at the foot of the bed – and a colorful throw and accent pillow. I repurposed the window treatment from my Master Bedroom. The balloon valance is the perfect style for this large scale floral fabric in vibrant blues and greens. The walls are painted one of my favorites – Sherwin Williams’ Anew Gray (SW7030). I love painted pieces – especially those with storage for a bedroom. The fun green chest with interesting shape fits nicely between the beds. The two shade lamp could not be more perfect for the twin beds. Every Bedroom needs seating, and I love a bench at the end of the bed. I had two problems – I did not have room for a full bench and I did not want to hide the bed frame. These small ottomans in rich blue velvet were the perfect solution. I added a gray wool rug for softness underfoot. On the wall opposite the beds, I used a painted blue dresser. To finish off the vignette, I selected a round mirror (because every Bedroom needs a mirror) with an oversized frame and unique accessories to support my color palette. Notice how nicely all of the different finishes – silver on the mirror, black iron on the bed and dresser and burnished brass on my little insect sculptures – work together. You can and should mix your metals – it makes every room more interesting! With the twin beds, the room was calling for symmetry so I dressed the walls with 6 botanical prints – 3 on each side.
This Bedroom makes me want to be a guest in my own home! Enjoy!
