Industrial transitional English style kitchen. The addition and remodeling were designed to keep the outdoors inside. Replaced the uppers and prioritized windows connected to key parts of the backyard and having open shelvings with walnut and brass details. Custom dark cabinets made locally. Designed to maximize the storage and performance of a growing family and host big gatherings. The large island was a key goal of the homeowners with the abundant seating and the custom booth opposite to the range area. The booth was custom built to match the client's favorite dinner spot. In addition, we created a more New England style mudroom in connection with the patio. And also a full pantry with a coffee station and pocket doors.

Stone / Tile Backsplash has newly hand painted finish on electrical outlets and switch plates. This not only is a great surprise to find the missing electrical outlets but very clean and elegant way getting rid of the clutter of white patches on your beautiful backsplash!

When a best friend calls to renovate her kitchen, we get extra excited! While many of our projects involve removing walls to create open floor plans, sometimes the biggest impact can come from revising the layout, improving functionality and upgrading finishes. Such was the case at our Devon Lane remodel. Reworking the awkwardly shaped island, eliminating a clunky soffit, relocating the refrigerator to a more accessible location and creating an elegant finish palette were our main goals when we set out to design this space. The work triangle began to evolve, and the outcome provided a large island with seating and a prep sink, ideal for hosting social gatherings. The wine bar, flanked by tall pantries, complements the rest of the kitchen, looking beautiful while providing lots of function. The new professional range and other high-end appliances make preparing meals a pleasure. The fabulous custom hood is a delightful focal point. The glazed ivory cabinets, black antiqued granite, iron light fixtures and hardware, nickel sinks and faucets bring the whole space together with an elevated, traditional feel. Cockle Bay House Auckland, New Zealand During the design of their new home, the Powell’s had a specific colour pallet in mind for the exterior. This included contrasting dark vertical cladding to the top of the building with light coloured brick at the base. Vulcan Primed Cladding was chosen primarily due to it’s ability to perform with a dark colour in the harsh Auckland climate . The weatherboards were painted on site with Resene Mako CoolColour- with 15% LRV, this colour is much darker than allowed on other timber weatherboard products. The cladding continues to perform excellently with virtually no movement or warping.

DHD Crosby Street Loft in SOHO, NYC The Crosby Street Loft building is located on a cobblestone block in the Soho Cast Iron Historic District. Built in 1882, it was formerly a department store, and converted in 2001 to a 10-unit loft condominium. Our renovation of a second floor loft retains and celebrates many of the original details, including generous, open spaces, 14 foot plus ceiling heights, Corinthian-style columns, and a continuous 120 foot exposed brick wall with integrated archways. The design was a collaborative process, integrating elements discovered on the client’s world travels. Design features include a 12 foot tall glass lounge, two fireplaces, Control4 smart home system, a stone, cold-rolled steel and custom walnut cabinet kitchen and living room, and a luxurious master suite reminiscent of a 5-star hotel. http://www.dhd.nyc Architect: David Howell, R.A.
