THE BLACK BACKOFFICE KITCHEN PROJECT
A masterpiece of modern kitchen design - Imagine entering your kitchen and feeling like you're in an exclusive restaurant. The material aesthetics of the fronts and worktops, the appliances, and the accessories - are all perfectly coordinated. Such a kitchen can be not only a place where you prepare food but an experience for all the senses.
Designed and implemented in collaboration with the renowned kitchen studio Spies, Küchen & Mehr from Regensburg-Lappersdorf, the Black Backoffice Kitchen project is a stunning kitchen that is not only functional but also a true design gem. The kitchen blends unobtrusively into the slope of the second floor, which is also the living space. The purist tall unit with its passage door conceals the clients' home office behind it; here, the view opens up over the roofs of the neighborhood.
The eye-catcher is the modern portafilter coffee niche, which, like the island worktop, is also lined with natural stone (infinity brown). The cooking, dishwashing, and work island with the 86 base units opens up the view into the extraordinarily tastefully designed living space. The result is a perfect symbiosis of aesthetics and functionality.

DZINE collaborated with the homeowners of a single family residence in Palo Alto, CA to provide a Boffi kitchen and powder room and Agape master bath. The K14 kitchen island is an elegant and seamless statement piece characterized by its top beveled edges and finish that wraps around the doors to the side panels. With a top in white Corian, the K14 provides plenty of space for cooking or entertaining. The XILA base units have a sleek stainless steel countertop and the tall units open up to reveal plenty of storage space inside. The suspended FLYER countertop by Boffi in the powder room is made of solid wood and is accompanied by a floating wall cabinet beneath. A LOTUS washbasin in matte white Cristalplant and PIPE plumbing fixtures complete the look of this contemporary bath.

With its all-stone look, the cooktop area gracefully rises along the wall elevation in this expertly crafted bespoke kitchen design. It provides a contemporary contrast to the cabinetry in bleached light oak.
While the choice of Neolith Mont Blanc provided highly durable surfaces, the gorgeous aesthetic didn’t come without challenges.
Aligning the hood panel with the base units called for custom-sized cabinetry.
To maximize sturdiness and capacity, the middle drawers feature single doors with double-drawer units on the inside.
The electrical outlets were made to integrate seamlessly into the backsplash without disrupting the aesthetic of the stone.

This renovation included work on both the main floor and basement. We started in the basement, where we replaced the floors with a luxury vinyl plank, replaced the baseboards and door casing, and installed wall sconces. We also added an additional 3 piece washroom in the basement, which included a vanity and top, toilet, shower base with sliding glass door system and shower faucet kit.
On the main floor, the kitchen was fully gutted, and the dividing wall between the dining room and kitchen was moved back, to expand the kitchen further; this was a load bearing wall. Due to this, we also enclosed the doorway to the dining room from the kitchen. An entirely new kitchen was installed in an MDF finish with a Michigan door style, featuring brushed nickel accents. The flooring throughout the main floor, including the kitchen was replaced with a luxury vinyl plank. A beautiful porcelain tile was installed for the kitchen backsplash with a quartz countertop. The client opted for a hooded fan with tile going up the surrounding walls, with decorative pendant lights and pot lights to brighten the space. The kitchen includes multiple storage solutions, including: 2 magic corners, a garbage/recycling system, and pull out drawer systems in the pantry. On the main floor, we also updated the powder room with a new vanity and top and toilet and installed a new laundry sink base unit in the laundry room. The railings and treads on the stairs were repainted, as well as all of the walls on the main floor. Due to the height of the new floor, the casing also had to be replaced on all of the doors on the main floor, and additional doorstop had to be added to each door.

This client brought me a catalog featuring entertainment furniture and asked if we could do something similar with built-in cabinetry customized to their needs. I replied in the positive and asked what their specific needs were -- what electronic components did they want, what would be stored here, did they want any open shelves for display or books, etc? Using primarily inset style cabinetry we created a built-in wall unit that includes storage drawers (for both their video library and for the grandkids toys and games), open shelves and display cabinets. Centrally we have the TV, video and audio equipment (infrared remotes necessitated the glass doors), and additional storage -- we used frame-less construction cabinets here to gain usable space inside the base unit.

This stunning kitchen transformation in St Albans is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can completely reimagine a space.
Our clients wanted to modernise and brighten their kitchen while keeping utility appliances discreetly out of sight.
For this project, we used our EasyTouch handleless cabinetry in a sophisticated pairing of Sand and Taupe, bringing a subtle contrast and warmth to the room.
The base units were finished in Taupe Grey, grounding the space with a sleek, contemporary tone. The overhead cabinets in Sand added a lighter, beige-toned lift that opens up the room beautifully. The result is a refined, layered look that feels both modern and inviting.
Algarve Quartz worktops in Blanco Snow elevate the design with a crisp, polished surface, complemented by a matching quartz splashback behind the hob for a seamless finish.
To maximise both form and function, we extended the peninsular area for additional worktop space and created a special freezer larder unit alongside a stylish wine and coffee niche. Siemens appliances were chosen for their sleek design and advanced performance, which are seamlessly integrated into the layout.
The result is a beautifully streamlined kitchen with hidden functionality, soft tones, and a layout that works perfectly for modern living.
