Inspiration for a timeless bedroom remodel in Philadelphia with green walls

This 1960's San Antonio mid century modern bedroom features limestone flooring and steel ceiling beams. The original built-in walnut dresser is still intact. Our design team added the long upholstered wall bed to accentuate the linear bedroom. The walnut nightstands balance the wood on the original built-in dresser and layers of bedding and a geometric rug add warmth. Geometric wall art adds a modern touch.

A soft and sophisticated master bedroom retreat with a beachy feel in Alexandria, Va. The soft blue/grey color is soothing and relaxing. We added a grasscloth wallpaper to the tray ceiling to draw attention to the architecture and highlight the rope chandelier. Custom linen draperies add softness and warmth in this large space. A large seating area was warmed and made functional by a custom designed, custom made sectional and storage ottoman. What do teenager’s need most in their bedroom? Personalized space to make their own, a place to study and do homework, and of course, plenty of storage! This teenage girl’s bedroom not only provides much needed storage and built in desk, but does it with clever interplay of millwork and three-dimensional wall design which provide niches and shelves for books, nik-naks, and all teenage things. What do teenager’s need most in their bedroom? Personalized space to make their own, a place to study and do homework, and of course, plenty of storage! This teenage girl’s bedroom not only provides much needed storage and built in desk, but does it with clever interplay of three-dimensional wall design which provide niches and shelves for books, nik-naks, and all teenage things. While keeping the architectural elements characterizing the entire design of the house, the interior designer provided millwork solution every teenage girl needs. Not only aesthetically pleasing but purely functional. Along the window (a perfect place to study) there is a custom designed L-shaped desk which incorporates bookshelves above countertop, and large recessed into the wall bins that sit on wheels and can be pulled out from underneath the window to access the girl’s belongings. The multiple storage solutions are well hidden to allow for the beauty and neatness of the bedroom and of the millwork with multi-dimensional wall design in drywall. Black out window shades are recessed into the ceiling and prepare room for the night with a touch of a button, and architectural soffits with led lighting crown the room. Cabinetry design by the interior designer is finished in bamboo material and provides warm touch to this light bedroom. Lower cabinetry along the TV wall are equipped with combination of cabinets and drawers and the wall above the millwork is framed out and finished in drywall. Multiple niches and 3-dimensional planes offer interest and more exposed storage. Soft carpeting complements the room giving it much needed acoustical properties and adds to the warmth of this bedroom. For this bedroom design, forms and finishes were kept simple so as not to clash with the imposing slanted ceiling made in a natural wood finish. The modern rustic aesthetic was kept though the selection of furniture pieces that have natural finishes in them such as the nightstand with weaved door faces and a basket that also serves as a bench made of wicker. Dark wood tones in the lounge chairs and side tables create contrast to the light finishes of the ceiling and carpeted flooring.

This primary bedroom exudes calm and sophistication with floor-to-ceiling drapery featuring both blackout and sheer layers, allowing for flexible light control. The wrap-around headboard with a wood back and upholstered front creates a cozy focal point, complemented by wood and white nightstands and a wooden bench with butterfly joint details. Pendant lights provide soft ambient lighting, while a shaggy white area rug over wood floors adds warmth and texture. Flush trim and recessed baseboards enhance the clean, modern lines, and a blue throw blanket adds a subtle pop of color, completing the layered, serene design. Photo by Thomas Kuoh.

Inspiration for an industrial medium tone wood floor bedroom remodel in Austin with white walls

The fully furnished, maintenance-free Benita embraces inspired villa living in the lakefront Portofino neighborhood at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club. Overlooking a picturesque lake, the model home is shown with three bedrooms plus a den, or optional fourth bedroom. The Benita’s open floor plan includes a formal dining room; a kitchen with upgraded appliances and cabinetry, and a café and great room with oversized sliding glass doors that open to an outdoor living area with outdoor kitchen. Flanked by an arbor and sculptured trellis tails, the pool and spa are both of an ornate sculptured curved design, and include a water feature that cascades gentle water into a circular pool shelf complete with decorative up-lighting.
