Here we created a berm to define the entryway and front yard. We used a Tremron retaining wall product with caps. We then planted the berm with a Japanese red maple and flanking Drake Elms. We added accessory shrubs that include Jack Frost ligustrum, youpon holly Muhley grass and mondo grass.

After picture of berm that was created over a new septic tank. We installed a stone retaining wall and boulder accents, along with plantings. We also created a custom metal and cedar hammock stand.

As designed, this little berm with plantings completely hides the large gravel driveway and parking area without obstructing the mountain views. The meandering path allowed for a larger planting area. Very little water is needed to keep these plants looking attractive.

A hobbit house invites curiosity and imaginative nature play. A slide goes down the back of the mound to a grassy play area beyond.

Planting under established trees can be daunting for homeowners. This area called for a more sedate planting design that would brighten the understory near the entry drive. Variegated Hosta and native ferns lightened the space with their bright green foliage and provide just enough textural difference to be interesting, but not overwhelming.

The beautiful xeriscaping planting scheme with shasta daisies, catmint, blue oat grass, and native fescues. The native fescues and grasses compliment the landscape and set it in its natural surroundings. Note how large the berm is in-between the road, sidewalk, and the lawn. This berm delineates the space and keeps all of the sports equipment in the field and not out in street.
