Don't let the name fool you. We took this once drab front yard into the envy of the row home block. We only had a week to do this front prior to starting a rather large project but finished it all with a bit of Chicago style. This row home block consisted of the exact same lot sizes and layout for all the home. So we were determined to create something a little different so to stand out form the rest of the pack. This project contains a custom designed floating ipe bench wrapped around one of our stand alone self watering planters. inlay porcelain tile surrounded by Mexican pebbles shows the distinct pattern with defining colors and made this Chi-town hustle project a fun one. We also enjoyed collaboration with the homeowners as this space will be enjoyed for many years to come.

A Spa-Like Bathroom Retreat This bathroom started out with an outdated layout that didn’t make the best use of space. The finishes felt tired, and the room lacked the kind of flow and luxury that homeowners today are looking for. Our goal was to completely reimagine the space into a bright, functional, and spa-inspired retreat that blends modern design with timeless comfort. Here’s how we transformed it: Custom walk-in shower: We installed large-format porcelain tiles with a soft marble veining that makes the shower feel sleek and high-end. A built-in bench and recessed niche add everyday convenience, while dual showerheads (including a rainfall option) create a spa-worthy experience. The linear drain keeps the design seamless and modern. Freestanding soaker tub: A sculptural tub now sits by the window, giving the homeowners a relaxing place to unwind. It also adds a stunning visual element that elevates the entire room. Bright and airy design: Soft neutral tones on the walls and floor make the bathroom feel bigger and brighter. Paired with pot lights and natural light from the windows, the room feels open and inviting at any time of day. Double vanity upgrade: We installed a spacious dual-sink vanity with a quartz countertop that’s both elegant and practical. The soft-close cabinetry offers plenty of storage while keeping the look clean and streamlined. Polished hardware and fixtures tie it all together with a subtle touch of luxury. Finishing details: Every fixture and finish was carefully selected to create a cohesive look — from the sleek shower glass and brushed hardware to the statement light fixtures above the mirrors. The end result is a bathroom that feels like a private retreat. It’s spacious, functional, and stylish — the kind of space that makes you look forward to your morning routine and your evening wind-down.

An 8-foot-wide addition to the end of this mid-century modern gem of a home designed by the well-known local modernist architect Robert Metcalf allowed the former galley kitchen to be enlarged and modernized. The eating nook and the kitchen were flipped, moving the kitchen closer to the garage and the eating area to the end of the house to take advantage of the gorgeous view. Clean lines, glass tile backsplashes, and a glass breakfast counter give the home an update that fits beautifully with the original architect’s design.
