The historical society has approved this remodel. As part of that distinction we had to honor the original look of the home; keeping the façade updated but intact. For example the doors and windows are new but they were made as replicas to the originals. The homeowners were relocating from the Inland Empire to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. One of their requests was additional living space. In order to achieve this we added a second story to the home while ensuring that it was in character with the original structure. The interior of the home is all new. It features all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Although the home is a Spanish Revival the homeowners style on the interior of the home is very traditional. The project features a home gym as it is important to the homeowners to stay healthy and fit. The kitchen / great room was designed so that the homewoners could spend time with their daughter and her children. The home features two master bedroom suites. One is upstairs and the other one is down stairs. The homeowners prefer to use the downstairs version as they are not forced to use the stairs. They have left the upstairs master suite as a guest suite. There is plenty of counter space in this bathroom which even includes a makeup table. The layout of the master bathroom was created to be perfectly symmetrical which allowed us to incorporate his and hers areas within the same space. The bathtub crates a focal point seen from the hallway through custom designed louvered double door and the shower seen through the glass towards the back of the bathroom enhances the size of the space. Wet areas of the floor are finished in honed marble tiles and the entire floor was treated with any slip solution to ensure safety of the homeowners. The white marble background give the bathroom a light and feminine backdrop for the contrasting dark millwork adding energy to the space and giving it a complimentary masculine presence. Storage is maximized by incorporating the two tall wood towers on either side of each vanity – it provides ample space needed in the bathroom and it is only 12” deep which allows you to find things easier that in traditional 24” deep cabinetry. Manmade quartz countertops are a functional and smart choice for white counters, especially on the make-up vanity. Vanities are cantilevered over the floor finished in natural white marble with soft organic pattern allow for full appreciation of the beauty of nature. This home has a lot of inside/outside references, and even in this bathroom, the large window located inside the steam shower uses electrochromic glass (“smart” glass) which changes from clear to opaque at the push of a button. It is a simple, convenient, and totally functional solution in a bathroom. The center of this bathroom is a freestanding tub identifying his and hers side and it is set in front of full height clear glass shower enclosure allowing the beauty of stone to continue uninterrupted onto the shower walls. sorry for the cell pic! This was a great renovation of an outdated 80's style bathroom. We gutted it, laid a basket weave floor and a gorgeous custom vanity. Specialty faucets and bath fittings as well as the crystal sconces give this space a european flair. Great use of space for a long and narrow bathroom. A double sink vanity with just enough room in between for a makeup vanity.

This custom makeup and bath vanity become a beautiful focal point for the room. Larger bulkheads on each end frame the vanity, and a 2" mitered quartz countertop nestles between the book ends. Each and every drawer is custom divided for toiletries and storage, while one cabinet looks like drawers, but is actually one cabinet that opens for larger access. With sleek porcelain tile walls and a copper penny round floor, we have found a soothing balance between strong and sleek.

Some of the features of this master bath are: luxurious antiqua limestone floors, porcelanosa wall tiles, ceasarstone tops, air tub, domed shower with railhead and multiple body sprays, bidet room, ceasarstone tops & soft close drawers.

Designed specifically for her....custom sink vanity and corresponding makeup vanity with hot styling tool pull out station for ease. The mirror is floated off of the wall and illuminated from behind.

This area had been previously unused, and was a bare wall on the way through to the bedroom. We decided to make it a dedicated dressing table for the homeowner, as the bathroom did not have enough room for all her hair and make-up and jewellery requirements!
