The dining area features a restored mahogany dining table that has been in the family for generations. This antique table features a central column base with claw feet and Queen Ann dining chairs with a ball and claw feet. A Scandanavian-inspired chandelier hangs over the dining room table; its minimalist style draws attention to low-wattage antique filament bulbs as a visible design feature that creates soft, warm lighting. A yellow ceramic mid-century modern dish creates a pop of color in the center of the dining table, while a fiddle leaf fig and monstera plant create green space on either side of the dining area. The existing kitchen was transformed by painting the cabinets a deep black green and replacing the hardware with brushed antique brass round knobs to create a contemporary woodland feel.

Home and Living Examiner said: Modern renovation by J Design Group is stunning J Design Group, an expert in luxury design, completed a new project in Tamarac, Florida, which involved the total interior remodeling of this home. We were so intrigued by the photos and design ideas, we decided to talk to J Design Group CEO, Jennifer Corredor. The concept behind the redesign was inspired by the client’s relocation. Andrea Campbell: How did you get a feel for the client's aesthetic? Jennifer Corredor: After a one-on-one with the Client, I could get a real sense of her aesthetics for this home and the type of furnishings she gravitated towards. The redesign included a total interior remodeling of the client's home. All of this was done with the client's personal style in mind. Certain walls were removed to maximize the openness of the area and bathrooms were also demolished and reconstructed for a new layout. This included removing the old tiles and replacing with white 40” x 40” glass tiles for the main open living area which optimized the space immediately. Bedroom floors were dressed with exotic African Teak to introduce warmth to the space. We also removed and replaced the outdated kitchen with a modern look and streamlined, state-of-the-art kitchen appliances. To introduce some color for the backsplash and match the client's taste, we introduced a splash of plum-colored glass behind the stove and kept the remaining backsplash with frosted glass. We then removed all the doors throughout the home and replaced with custom-made doors which were a combination of cherry with insert of frosted glass and stainless steel handles. All interior lights were replaced with LED bulbs and stainless steel trims, including unique pendant and wall sconces that were also added. All bathrooms were totally gutted and remodeled with unique wall finishes, including an entire marble slab utilized in the master bath shower stall. Once renovation of the home was completed, we proceeded to install beautiful high-end modern furniture for interior and exterior, from lines such as B&B Italia to complete a masterful design. One-of-a-kind and limited edition accessories and vases complimented the look with original art, most of which was custom-made for the home. To complete the home, state of the art A/V system was introduced. The idea is always to enhance and amplify spaces in a way that is unique to the client and exceeds his/her expectations. One of the biggest challenges with South Tampa homes is updating to modern conveniences while keeping with the home’s historic charm. This home was built in the 1920’s and features a lot of architectural details rarely seen in today’s homes. Our project? To tackle the upstairs guest bathroom that had fallen way behind the times. Besides being outdated, the layout did not work well for the limited space. With the tub and sink right across from each other, it cut an already narrow room in half. Our solution? First, we decided to move the plumbing around in such a configuration that we could install a walk-in shower in the back portion of the room. This allowed us to place the pedestal sink next to the shower as opposed to being across from it. We replaced all of the plumbing fixtures with modern, high-efficiency products using oil rubbed bronze finishes. The tiles were selected by our homeowner from across the Atlantic; the floor tiles were a stunning geometric pattern from Germany, while the wall tiles were handcrafted white tiles from Italy. Using exposed-bulb hanging lights added to the period-specific look. Even the ceiling got a makeover, with a new tongue-and-groove wood ceiling.

The vast branched pattern surrounds a considerable-sized glass piece just as an embrace of nature, where the movement of the structure tries to reach the fall of a drop of water. Due to the steel cable solution, the Liquid collection is ideal for situations that require some structure and magnificence, achieving a status of lighting sculpture. We redesigned this shower to include a new tiled shower bench, a large shower niche made from dark tiles which then contrast with the white subway tile walls, as well as new shower walls by replacing the floor-to-ceiling doors with lower Starfire glass ones. The new shower walls and small shower window conveniently prevent steam from overtaking the entire bathroom - an ideal feature for a large master bathroom such as this one. Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who serve Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Wilmette, and all of the way up to Lake Forest.
