A photo of the front before the landscape was installed, with only grass and one undistinguished tree (now removed, and replaced with a flowering Saucer Magnolia and a mixed bulb/perennials garden). There were no foundation plantings, and there was parking for only 2 cars. The gardens were transformed in phases over a number of years. The client brief was for a garden with 4-season interest, with a mixed planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and ground cover. The intention was to have an organic garden which attracted pollinators and birds, as well as being a relaxing retreat for a family of 5. The soft- and hardscaping were phased in gradually both in the front and backyard.

How much maintenance does outdoor lighting require? ? ? In order to prevent the lamps from overheating, it is necessary to often clean the leaves and debris on the lamps. At the same time, if a bulb burns out, it should be replaced immediately to avoid shortening the life of other bulbs due to voltage overload. For lamps located at high places or difficult to reach, it is best to ask professionals to maintain them.
