New Key Construction was fortunate enough to work with Kimberley Harrison Interiors recently to transform a small cramped kitchen into a beautiful, clean, modern, and functional space. Kim and her design team thought outside of the box and expanded this kitchen to include an adjacent room and they incorporated an impressive 15 ft island. Their ability to direct and manage finish selections was key in keeping the project on schedule. As a General Contractor who manages medium to large sized remodels we found their ability to source plumbing, tile, lighting, and finishes was integral in the project’s success.
They even provided my Project Manager with an onsite contractor binder that contained everything from tile placement, grout specifications, paint colors, lighting placement, and elevations – you name it, it was in there!
KHI’s commitment to excellence is reflected throughout the beautiful spaces they design. We look forward to partnering with their team again and wowing our clients with their professionalism, communication, and attention to detail. We would highly recommend contacting Kimberley Harrison Interiors to design your dream space!

I was lucky enough to find Kim and her team just as I’d fired another designer who was just not delivering. I can’t imagine how much better the whole project would have been if I had been working with Kim from the beginning!
As context, I was remodeling a kitchen, two bathrooms and a half bath. A lot of moving parts! Kim was immediately available and asked me some questions to assess what I was looking for. Then she and her team got to work!
Their process was smooth, efficient and effective. I was given enough choices to feel like I was providing input, but not so many it was overwhelming. They were always on time and did a great job managing expectations with regard to supply chain issues. I really can’t recommend them highly enough.
Incredibly reasonable prices, with incredibly creative ideas and design. Kim and her team are super quick to respond to inquiries, but usually proactive in keeping in touch.
Since I’ve installed what they helped with I’ve had constant compliments about how nice and how creative everything looks.
I’d use them again in a heartbeat and am already thinking about my next project!

I have had the pleasure to work with KH Interiors on many projects. Kimberley and her design team are by far hands-down the best design firm we have ever worked with. I have owned a construction company here in Orinda for over 22 years and we have never had such an organized professional designer that only has the clients best interest. All of our clients have been more than satisfied with her keen eye for color, texture and finishes. KH Interiors go out of their way to provide a design experience like no design team we have worked with.

While I see that Kimberley has many positive reviews here, I am only giving a review from our personal experience. We have a small condo in SF (569 sq ft). We were looking to remodel the place and decided that we might work with an interior designer to help us come up with some creative solutions for a small space. My wife spent 5 weeks interviewing/discussing our project with no less than 15 designers. Most said our project was too small, many were too busy to take on the project but we had a few choices and chose Kimberley. She assured us she could help us and expressed that the low part of our budget might be difficult but the upper portion she could make happen. We agreed to use her and her Staff. Kimberley and her associate came on the agreed date to take measurements and discuss design and total project. After ther meeting they left and said they would provide design recommendations and contractor bids for new windows and tile work for the bathroom. Let me stress, just doing tile work, not a bathroom remodel. No structure changes, plumbing or electrical work had to be done. 5 weeks after the measurements and discussion had been done we had heard nothing. We reached out to ask what had been accomplished to date… After 2 attempts to get a response Kimberley said she was getting a bid for the tile work and would have it soon. A couple days later she sent the bid for the bathroom tile work. The bathroom is tiny (50 sq ft). The bid she gave us was just for labor to tile bathroom (tile not included) was for $45K, yes $45,000…. Almost $10,000 a sq ft. We were appalled and when we asked how this could be, Kimberley said that is the going rate. We decided that Kimberley was probably not looking out for our best interests and did not really want the job. We asked for the remainder of our deposit to be returned since we had not received anything other than a bid for her services. Her response was that the deposit money had all been used in their work to date. We asked for the measurements and all research work that had been accomplished, she said it would take her a couple days to get it to us. In the end, we spent $3000 for an outrageous tile bid, an incomplete measurement diagram and a list of 10 websites for couches. In the end we feel scammed and just wish she would have said upfront that she was not interested in the job. She was quick to take our money and not very genuine in her services.

Comment from Kimberley Harrison Interiors:
I’m very disheartened to see Michael’s comments as we pride ourselves on providing excellent client service and we do everything we can to make our clients happy. While we make every effort to ensure client satisfaction, unfortunately, some expectations are unrealistic and cannot be met. First, the client interviewed 15 designers and had a hard time finding anyone to take their small job. Second, the $3,000 they spent equated to nearly 20 hours of work on their project before they decided not to move forward because their budget did not allow for the construction fees warranted by the nuances of work in San Francisco on an old Victorian. I was very clear upfront that we are NOT contractors, and that the client would be signing a contractor’s bid directly but that we would assist with finding a contractor to take their job. I’d like to point out that I do not ever speak to what a contractor’s fees will be; that is up to the contractor to determine based on the job scope provided which, in this case, was changing out old bay windows and updating a bathroom. Third, the client wanted space planning and furniture for their living space and some updates to their bedroom. We provided a site visit and a field measure, full drafting and elevations for the revised bathroom (so the contractor could bid the job) communicated with a window installer, provided drafting for the living space, and began doing furniture sourcing for the living space. Last, we spoke to several contractors who were not interested in this project, yet we persisted in finding someone who was available and could do this type of work. When we found a contractor, we passed his quote along to the client - this is the point at which they abruptly terminated their contract and wanted their retainer back. The client did not want to go any further, which is understandable but up to this point, we had already provided them with a lot of work. For this reason, we hold a retainer – so that clients like this can’t decide not to pay for services we have provided. It was completely reasonable and within my contract to deduct the retainer from their invoice for the work we had completed to date. We turned over all the drafting and drawings that we had done in addition to the sourcing that we had started but were not allowed to complete.
I am saddened to read their review as this was not at all indicative of what actually happened. Over those 5 weeks, we did quite a lot of work, as promised. Further, it was more than just “tile work”. They wanted to reshape the shower, add a new vanity, mirror, toilet, plumbing, etc. Meanwhile, all of this happened during Covid when my team was working reduced hours and remotely, yet we still did the work we were asked to do and provided all components to the client. We sincerely hope they found someone to complete the job for them.

We had the most amazing experience working with Kim Harrison and her team. We moved to the Bay Area a couple of years ago and were faced with a sizable renovation. The entire place had to be reimagined. Kim worked with us through the entire process to transform our home into a beautiful and functional living space. We are especially proud of our new bathrooms. Kim worked with our contractor to entirely rethink these rooms - moving walls, adding windows and reconfiguring layouts. In the end, we have two beautiful bathrooms, one which won a design award. We also worked with Kim to reinvent our living area. Kim spent the time necessary to understand our style, but she also pushed us to consider new and fresh ideas. She incorporated our existing artwork and a couple of pieces of existing furniture into a completely transformed space. In the end we have a living space that is both timeless and modern. Thank you to Kim and team and we look forward to continuing the relationship!

Kim is a wonderful design professional. She had such a range of looks to show us, all unique and distinct to our home. She was great at listening to our wants, but also extremely flexible in finding us just the right items that complete the look, and fit within our budget. I think what I liked most in working with Kim was the ease of which it was to work with her. She's very flexible and responds quickly to requests. She communicated clearly about all aspects and was on top of project costs and billing too. All around a wonderful designer that I would highly recommend!

Kim did an amazing job helping us with our living room redesign and entryway. We were in awe of how perfectly the furniture fit in and how the fabrics and colors came together. She far exceeded our expectations with her creative ideas that provided a WOW factor when you walk in! We would highly recommend Kim for any design project. She is very personable and professional and has an unbelievable, natural "eye" for design. We can't wait for her to help us with a bathroom and laundry room redesign next!

We love Kim! We used Kim to help us design our newly remodeled home (furniture, paint colors/design, decor, etc.) and she did a fantastic job. On the front end of the engagement, she focused on the right level of detail to get to know us and our style. After that, we relied heavily on her to source options and provide guidance along the way, and she delivered. She was able to tap into furniture and decor sources that we simply wouldn't have had access to without her network. My wife and I have busy schedules and I know getting timely responses from us was challenging, but Kim remained patient and thoughtful throughout the process, and thanks in large part to her we have a beautiful new home!

Loved working with Kim! I delayed for two years and am so thankful she helped me execute on the project. She moved me along through the process and made it fun. I never would have found the fabrics she pulled together or made the room feel so welcoming yet stylish the way she did. She has such a great eye and it was a relief to have her in the driver's seat, knowing that she would pick all of the pieces and that they would work together. She made it all so easy! I would trust her with any project!

Kimberly Harrison Interiors was retained to furnish and decorate my new California Bay area home, from scratch. Kimberly did a great job interpreting and integrating a fresh contemporary look with respect for my traditional taste. She is skilled at bringing together textures, colors, and proportions in a relatively small space. I appreciate how she combined pieces from various sources to achieve an extremely high end look and feel at a good value.

Kimberley Harrison exceeded all my visions and expectations of working with a professional designer to update our 1960's California ranch home.
Kim took the time to listen to all our design needs upfront and worked them into a beautiful and functional design. Our goal was to create a space that was sophisticated, fresh and modern but also highly functional. The recommendations that Kim brought forward were always within our budget and perfectly matched our lifestyle. She is a terrific designer to work with as she has a fantastic sense of style, very professional, wonderful attention to detail and amazing creativity. With Kim's trained eye, we were able to mix and match to get just the right look for our family home. Working with Kim was a pleasure and I highly recommend her for your next home project.

I hired Kim to help me with my living and dining room design after purchasing a new home. Kim was not only incredibly easy to work but also a fabulous designer. She sourced amazing pieces that fit into my personal aesthetic, the design of my home and fit within our moderate budget. Kim is responsive to her clients individual styles while helping them discover new looks and creating cohesive and livable spaces. We're very happy with our modern-farmhouse living spaces that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and kid friendly! We'd hire Kim again in a heartbeat.

Last year I went from a 3000 sq foot home to a small town house. I hired Kimberley Harrison Interiors to help he with my transition. She went through my big home and marked items to take with me . I was on a tight budget and she helped me turn my small townhouse , (which was a disaster) into what felt like a Manhattan Penthouse - She used some of my old pieces and purchased some affordable new pieces and did an amazing job with wall colors. She turned the horrific entry way into a beautiful elegant space on a shoe string budget.
I felt so confident with her decisions. I also felt very comfortable letting her know I did not have a big budget to work with.Kimberley was so easy to work with, efficient, on time, reliable and fun.
I have moved again from my townhouse back to a 3000 square foot home and hired Kimberley Harrison Interiors once again. She used everything from the townhouse and only added a few pieces, some great affordable rugs , wall colors and my house feels warm and inviting.
I had an immediate connection with Kimberley- she GOT what I wanted right away and delivered on time. She has an amazing eye and fantastic energy. She is also a great listener, which I found is hard to find in many of the interior designers I interviewed . I
love what she has done for my home and family.
I am really looking forward to her continued help with our farmhouse we will be building - she will be helping us from ground up. There is no other designer I would trust to create our dream house other than Kimberley Harrison Interiors.

I had a fantastic experience working with Kimberley Harrison Interiors. Kim was instrumental in helping me re-design my formal dining room. In particular, my Kreiss dining room set needed re-upholstering. I had put the project off for the longest time as could not make a decision on the design direction. Kim offered the ideal combination of patience and expertise to guide me in finding exactly what I wanted. The end result is a formal dining area that I love and fits my family's lifestyle perfectly. Kim's eye for detail, dedication to meeting individual taste and style and commitment to delivering outstanding quality and service puts Kimberley Harrison Interiors in a class by itself.
I look forward to working with Kim again!
