The "Carousel House" was a custom design by Murray Arnott for customers in the Port Angeles area. Nicola LogWorks was chosen to provide the log work. This style of construction is called Piece-en-Piece, and features log in-fill panels in a log post and beam structure. One of our favourite and most challenging projects; all of the pieces (some 350 +/-) were pre-cut at our site in Merritt and fit for the first time at the customer's site. This is standard practice for us at Nicola LogWorks and requires accurate working drawings and connection details. photo: Get Designing.

A curved dining room provided the perfect opportunity to bring in beautiful damask drapery, hung upon a custom curved track - which the installer bent on site. Special equipment was necessary, and was purchased for this project to facilitate, using an upgraded style of European Drapery Track. Our lovely client wanted to have privacy on the lower section of her windows, which made Hunter Douglas’s Top Down/Bottom Up Duette the perfect choice, with a light filtering fabric to maximize light. We used a tone-on-tone damask patterned Kravet fabric in muted greys and whites on a cotton & rayon ground cloth to create the quiet elegance the client was looking for.

The base of all of our bird houses and feeders are made of a solid cellular vinyl, a wood alternative that gives you the look and feel of wood, with little maintenance. The end result is an architecturally pleasing house that looks like wood, but lasts like vinyl. The redwood roofs are made to endure the elements year after year. Our copper tops age over time to a natural patina or you may choose a Blue Verde roof that will give you the patina look right out of the box!
