This 400 s.f. studio apartment in NYC’s Greenwich Village serves as a pied-a-terre
for clients whose primary residence is on the West Coast.
Although the clients do not reside here full-time, this tiny space accommodates
all the creature comforts of home.
Bleached hardwood floors, crisp white walls, and high ceilings are the backdrop to
a custom blackened steel and glass partition, layered with raw silk sheer draperies,
to create a private sleeping area, replete with custom built-in closets.
Simple headboard and crisp linens are balanced with a lightly-metallic glazed
duvet and a vintage textile pillow.
The living space boasts a custom Belgian linen sectional sofa that pulls out into a
full-size bed for the couple’s young children who sometimes accompany them.
Efficient and inexpensive dining furniture sits comfortably in the main living space
and lends clean, Scandinavian functionality for sharing meals. The sculptural
handrafted metal ceiling mobile offsets the architecture’s clean lines, defining the
space while accentuating the tall ceilings.
The kitchenette combines custom cool grey lacquered cabinets with brass fittings,
white beveled subway tile, and a warm brushed brass backsplash; an antique
Boucherouite runner and textural woven stools that pull up to the kitchen’s
coffee counter punctuate the clean palette with warmth and the human scale.
The under-counter freezer and refrigerator, along with the 18” dishwasher, are all
panelled to match the cabinets, and open shelving to the ceiling maximizes the
feeling of the space’s volume.
The entry closet doubles as home for a combination washer/dryer unit.
The custom bathroom vanity, with open brass legs sitting against floor-to-ceiling
marble subway tile, boasts a honed gray marble countertop, with an undermount
sink offset to maximize precious counter space and highlight a pendant light. A
tall narrow cabinet combines closed and open storage, and a recessed mirrored
medicine cabinet conceals additional necessaries.
The stand-up shower is kept minimal, with simple white beveled subway tile and
frameless glass doors, and is large enough to host a teak and stainless bench for
comfort; black sink and bath fittings ground the otherwise light palette.
What had been a generic studio apartment became a rich landscape for living.

Before Siemasko + Verbridge got their hands on this house, it was a convoluted maze of small rooms and skinny hallways. The renovation made sense of the layout, and took full advantage of the captivating ocean views. The result is a harmonious blend of contemporary style with classic and sophisticated elements. The “empty nest” home is transformed into a welcoming sanctuary for the extended family of kids and grandkids.

Why Ventilate Your Roof?
So, why does your roof need ventilation during colder weather?
There are several problems that poor airflow can cause if your roof during the winter months.
When there’s no airflow, it’s easier for issues like mold and mildew to develop in your attic space, causing damage to the essential timbers.
It’s the same on the outside of your roof too.
Snow and ice can cause blockages, leading to water overflow and damage to the roof.

Heathland Group were contacted by a private client who required aeration in a lake on their property. Within the lake was an island where they were planning to build a lodge, providing an ideal place for compressor placement. The client also wanted something that was aesthetically pleasing and could be seen at night, the AirPro Delmar aerating fountain, which is a floating lake fountain with aeration, seemed the perfect option.
Our aerating fountain proposal
SS2 Delmar Aerating Fountain
After inspecting the size and shape of the lake our technical team proposed an AirPro 4 diffused aeration system to efficiently aerate all areas of the lake. A diffused aeration system pumps air through diffuser membranes and makes its way to the lake surface in the form of millions of tiny bubbles. As these bubbles travel upward they entrain water with them. This water is carried to the lake surface where it becomes naturally oxygenated, thus aerating your lake.
A 2 HP Select Series 2 Delmar Aerating Fountain was also proposed with 4 35watt LED lights to provide a stunning feature to be enjoyed day and night. A control panel that could also be used remotely was proposed for safety and ease of operation. Floating lake fountains have many benefits over traditional fountain pump systems that are usually mounted on the lake bed. Pumps at the bottom of lakes are susceptible to debris such as leaves and weeds getting caught up in them, causing faults to develop or over heating.
Our floating lake fountains are intelligently designed. There are minimal obstructions and a clear passageway for the water flow at all times, so no blockages. All Heathland fountains come with high specification oil-filled motors to greatly extend motor life and power efficiency. Many of our long-term customers have already benefited from our maintenance programs and have fountains that are running efficiently after 10 years.
Installation of the Delmar aerating fountain
Once the client approved the proposal our team travelled to Hodnet in Shropshire with all the required equipment to complete the installation. The diffusers were placed in positions to ensure that they were able to aerate all areas of the lake. The compressor was placed towards the back of the island so it would be hidden by the lodge when viewed from the house. The weighted airline from the compressor was trenched within the island from the compressor to the edge of the bank ensuring it was out of sight.
Heathland Group supplies a large range of standard fountain patterns and aerator packages but we also design and build bespoke fountains and aerators. Contact us for a Free no obligation quote or any questions you may have. Please call us on 0800 389 1990 or email us at info@heathlandgroup.co.uk

A residential client in Voru, Estonia contacted Heathland Group requesting a floating lake fountain. Crown Gusher floating lake fountain from the Select Series 2 operating in a lake supplied by Heathland Fountains and AeratorsAfter discussing the client’s requirements the Select Series 2 Crown Gusher floating lake fountain 5HP/3.7KW with 3x 30 Watt LED lights was selected.
The Crown Gusher floating lake fountain has a beautiful conical pattern
The Select Series 2 Crown Gusher floating lake fountain creates a high conical pattern, making it ideal for smaller coves or narrow areas. We can provide the select series 2 fountain in a range of sizes from 0.75Kw to 5.5Kw. The client selected 3.7Kw to meet his waterbody requirements. All of the Select Series 2 range are equipped with a very large grill designed to provide reduced suction around the screen. This results in fewer blockages caused by leaves and other debris from the lake bed. It also ensures that you get a larger volume of water passing through the fountain for greater circulation. The Select Series 2 floating lake fountain is available in a horizontal or vertical configuration.
