The star of this sophisticated house in Israel, that covers a 500 sq surface, is our Skirt ceiling lamp, with a double lampshade in light green. The interior design is mostly composed by modern and design furniture, the tones are bright and neutral, the only colour flashes are given by Skirt and by the turquoise pouffs. The two-floors building has a characteristic “L” shape, with the both sides of the same length, these wings embrace and host the swimming pool, giving a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The Centenary President’s House was first constructed in the 1890’s in the wealthy Normandy Park neighborhood of Morristown. In 1910, the house was sold and carefully disassembled and reconstructed on the corner of Moore and Jefferson Streets in Hackettstown. In 1945, the property was purchased by Centenary Junior College and has served seven college presidents since then. On January 7, 2015 the house was irreparably damaged by fire. Ford 3 Architects was commissioned to design a new residence featuring similar details and characteristics as the original.

Healed marks and scars are to be expected and enhance the natural beauty of the hides. These variations should not be considered defects as they are normal and unique features of genuine 100% top grain cowhide leather. One important characteristic of the project was conceiving the house as a refuge, a cozy place after a tiring day of work and an oasis of silence in the urban chaos. Personality and individuality were infused by custom made furniture (adjusted to the dimensions of the rooms for rational use of space), well-chosen statement furniture pieces (dining table, wall clock, lighting, nightstands, vanity desk chair, etc.) and attention to details. Breaking the monotony was accomplished by unexpected combinations of textures and materials: slate on the furniture fronts, wood, painted MDF, cow leather carpet. The main stylistic direction is given by elegant lines that evoke Classicism but strongly anchored into the present day, while at the same time maintaining simple and clean graphics. Good communication with the beneficiaries led to an interior design concept that emphasizes the qualities of their home.
