The Blue Butterfly Sanctuary is the site of an old navel housing facility. The base was constructed in the early 90’s and then inhabited for only three years before becoming a ghost town. After 20 years and miles and miles of red tape the VOA (Veterans of America) got the go ahead to convert these 76 abandoned houses into homes for homeless single mother veterans and their children. As a single mama myself, and as a person who believes that every human who so desires to should have a place they can call home, this project moved me. I joined forces with my stellar sister, Justina Blakeney and together with the helping hands of a few dear friends, a dose of DIY genius, and a bunch of love, we turned this house into a home. Reading corner for young learners. This charity room featured full wall murals for a little girl's castle fantasy. The bunk bed featured a play area under the bed. The pink, purple, green and yellow castle landscape mural was a huge hit.

2010 IFDA Tableau to benefit Ryan House - Birds of a Feather Rise Together was created to symbolize the Everlasting Spirit. A lifesize artificial peacock with real tail feathers was surrounded by other birds rising high above the tabletop which was also trimmed in real feathers and crystals. The ladies chair covers had a bustle back with a feather fan and peacock feather trimmed train while the gents chairs had a tailored back panel of embroidered silk. Laundry room - tropical laundry room idea in New Orleans

Riviera Magazine "To Dine For" to benefit Promises2Kids. Proud as a Peacock was redesigned from an earlier charity event and captured the spirit of the newly opened Vintana Restaurant with whom we were partnered. Following this event, this tablescape was donated to the Nishikiya Wedding Center in Okayama, Japan as part of a cultural design exchange.
