Maria Bortugno, B Designs When I first met Chris, she walked me through her lovely home frustrated by the task at hand and the unfinished, uncohesive, disjointed spaces. Everything was beige, spread about in odd configurations and lacked any personality. "Chris" a pretty blue eyed blonde, was nowhere present. I liked the lines of the furniture and after discussing Chris's favorite colors, needs and wants, we decided to reupholster the formerly "all beige" furniture in blues and whites and add drapes to coordinate. As with many families, wear and tear was a concern. Chris with three kids, a hubby anda large Doodle-Puppy name Maddie, was no exception. We chose fabrics that looked pretty, had a soft hand but would stand up to Kool Aid and muddy paws. The blue and white area rug, is polypropylene and relatively indestructible, yet soft to the touch. We rearranged the furniture, opening up the space to the adjoining Dining room for flow and added Full length drapery to the exhiisting shutters for warmth and charm. This was a family favorite chair that had been loved to death. It was an ivory microsuede, so when Chris asked me if it was worth saving. I said yes. If the chair is as classic as this and a family favorite lets find a family friendly fabric and reupholster it. We chose this super super soft nubby textured knit that has a high double rub content, so it will withstand years of kids jumping on it. Chris sent me this photo of her youngest son who refuses to share his favorite chair! We also added the Moroccan ivory and navy wool rug to add some pattern and dimension to the space. Not finished but they are super happy!

We transformed this rather bland master bath into an exciting luxury space that Chris and Annette can take pride in. The shower included a custom shampoo niche and seat, 3/8" frameless glass encloses the shower, Black plumbing fixtures complement the light colored ceramic tile. A freestanding tub replaces a hard to access deck mounted spa tub. Shaker style vanity and linen by KCD. White quartz countertop embellish the warm wood tones of the vanity. Chris and Annette provided design input and excellent material selections that made this bath truly their own.

Chris had purchased the showcase home from a builder and didn't like many of the former dark Medtteranian touches, nor did she know where to start. She was referred to me by another client and we were off to the races.
