After an insurance claim due to water damage, it was time to give this family a functional basement space to match the rest of their beautiful home! Tackling both the general contracting + design work, this space features an asymmetrical fireplace/ TV unit, custom bar area and a new bedroom space for their daughter!

The third floor at the frat house had small dormers with gable ceilings. At the addition, we matched the originals, putting sconces above all the windows to light up the dormer area. The dormer sidewalls are straight; perspective makes them look splayed here.
The floor is re-claimed fir.

In this remodel of a very small kitchen, we designed it to claim every bit of space. The kitchen was opened up to the dining room and windows were added toward the back yard for a sense of a larger space.

A Rustic American farmhouse style kitchen is framed with re-claimed hand hewn beams, 2 islands and plenty of characted with alder wood cabinets in 2 different finishes. A contemporary lighting plan gives a modern twist on a vintage styled cooking alcove and a working island with a copper sink. The main kitchen sink is in the main island with seating. Renovisions was contacted by a client who purchased a home from one of their former customers. Apparently, they loved the kitchen and bathroom projects completed by Renovisions and thought to seek no further when faced with a bathroom plumbing leak at the tub area in the bath that had not been remodeled. After water damaged the existing floor and leaked into the kitchen below, they found the need to undergo a complete full bath ‘Renovision’. The challenge was to complete the project before our client had her baby.
Assisting the client with the insurance claim was the first order of business, then onto the enjoyable process of selecting products based on an agreed upon design. A deeper soaking tub, ample vanity storage and brighter, low maintenance materials were top of mind. We tailored a design plan to fit our clients budget and what they found most appealing. A beautiful oak vanity with a dark stain looks stunning with the light Carrera-look countertop and wood-look plank-styled slip resistant flooring. The decorative chrome mirror and blue-green hue on the walls soften the overall look of the space and provides a spa-like feel. The deeper tub not only allows our client to bath her newborn with ease but also to relax and pamper herself after a long day of work.
“Thank you for everything! My husband and I are very excited about this project, it came out beautiful! Choosing all the products right from your showroom was an amazing experience.”

A charming Airbnb, favorite restaurant, cozy coffee house, or a piece of artwork can all serve as design inspiration for your decor. How wonderful would it be to bring the colors, patterns, shapes, fabrics, or textures of those beloved places or things into your own home? That is exactly what Janet Aurora’s client was hoping to do. Her favorite restaurant, The Ivy Chelsea Garden, is located in London and features tufted leather sofas and benches, hues of salmon and sage, botanical patterns, and artwork surrounded by lush gardens and flowers. Take a look at how Janet used this point of inspiration in the client’s living room, dining room, entryway and study.
~ Dining Room ~
To accommodate space for a dining room table that would seat eight, we eliminated the existing fireplace. Janet custom designed a table with a beautiful wrought iron base and marble top, selected botanical prints for a gallery wall, and floral valances for the windows, all set against a fresh turquoise backdrop.
~ Living Room ~
Nods to The Ivy Chelsea Garden can be seen throughout the living room and entryway. A custom leather tufted sofa anchors the living room and compliments a beloved “Grandma’s chair” with crewel fabric, which was restored to its former beauty. Walls painted with Benjamin Moore’s Dreamcatcher 640 and dark salmon hued draperies create a color palette that is strikingly similar to the al fresco setting in London. In the entryway, floral patterned wallpaper introduces the garden fresh theme seen throughout the home.
~ The Study ~
Janet transformed an existing bedroom into a study by claiming the space from two reach-in closets to create custom built-ins with lighting. Many of the homeowner’s own furnishings were used in this room, but Janet added a much-needed reading chair in turquoise to bring a nice pop of color, window treatments, and an area rug to tie the space together. Benjamin Moore’s Deep Mauve was used on the walls and Ruby Dusk was added to the back of the cabinetry to add depth and interest. We also added French doors that lead out to a small balcony for a place to take a break or have lunch.
We love the way these spaces turned out and hope our clients will enjoy their spaces inspired by their favorite restaurant.

Reclaimed Walnut Backsplash. I acquired this material from my hardwood lumber supplier. He has dozens of pallets of this reclaimed walnut, which is claimed to be rejected Smith and Wesson gun stock material from eons ago.

An otherwise unremarkable lower level is now a layered, multifunctional room including a place to play, watch, sleep, and drink. Our client didn’t want light, bright, airy grey and white - PASS! She wanted established, lived-in, stories to tell, more to make, and endless interest. So we put in true French Oak planks stained in a tobacco tone, dressed the walls in gold rivets and black hemp paper, and filled them with vintage art and lighting. We added a bar, sleeper sofa of dreams, and wrapped a drink ledge around the room so players can easily free up their hands to line up their next shot or elbow bump a teammate for encouragement! Soapstone, aged brass, blackened steel, antiqued mirrors, distressed woods and vintage inspired textiles are all at home in this story - GAME ON!
Check out the laundry details as well. The beloved house cats claimed the entire corner of cabinetry for the ultimate maze (and clever litter box concealment).
Overall, a WIN-WIN!

Creating your outdoor living space means claiming your own little slice of nature and customizing it to suit your lifestyle and enhance your daily routine. Sometimes there is nothing more relaxing than sitting on your favorite patio chair, feeling the warm sun mixed with a cool breeze, and smelling the fragrant flowers blossoming in your garden.

We live in a place fit for an oil painting, a natural aesthetic we respectfully reference in our designs. The landscape became the defining element of a luminous home where windows claimed as much wall-space as stone siding; a serene palette paired perfectly with natural textures.
