This house, designed by Eric Rawlings, AIA, LEED AP and built by Arlene Dean, illustrates the flexibility of the Prairie Style by emphasizing the Japanese influences. Elements like the Torii Gate framing the circular front door and the Shoji Screens that separate the Dining Room and Play Room from the Great Room inside show the compatibility of traditional Japanese Architecture and the Arts and Crafts movement that both influenced the creation of the Prairie Style in the mid 1890s. The homeowners had remodeled their home incorporating art and crafts features to create a lodge feeling with dramatic soaring ceilings, rough-hewn timber beams, rustic woods and dark wood floors and natural wood trim work. When they looked at the home’s bathrooms, they did not measure up to the arts and crafts look of the rest of the home.
Bel Air’s interior designer looked at the three baths and created unique designs for each while taking into consideration the desire to have the baths compatible with the rest of the home.

Thinking the heat from this Falmouth home's new Valor Fireplace is going to ruin the beautiful shiplap wall, Samsung TV and Sonos Sound Bar?
??? ???? ????.
Valor's HeatShift system uses interior ducts to redirect 60% of the heat up and then back into the room via a vent near the ceiling. No need for a noisy fan.
HeatShift is a great feature to have if your surrounding walls, artwork, or electronics need to be cool.

A dramatic upstairs addition to a simple 1950’s tract house provided much need space a growing family and a much appreciated transformation for a changing community. Some persuasion was needed to convince planning authorities that a curved roof was actually compatible with the neighborhood, yet the final home and front porch nestles comfortably under a towering redwood. The arc motif is echoed with a stainless steel inlay in clear maple cabinet doors.
