This house was designed to maintain clean sustainability and durability. Minimal, simple, modern design techniques were implemented to create an open floor plan with natural light. The entry of the home, clad in wood, was created as a transitional space between the exterior and the living spaces by creating a feeling of compression before entering into the voluminous, light filled, living area. The large volume, tall windows and natural light of the living area allows for light and views to the exterior in all directions. This project also considered our clients' need for storage and love for travel by creating storage space for an Airstream camper in the oversized 2 car garage at the back of the property. As in all of our homes, we designed and built this project with increased energy efficiency standards in mind. Our standards begin below grade by designing our foundations with insulated concrete forms (ICF) for all of our exterior foundation walls, providing the below grade walls with an R value of 23. As a standard, we also install a passive radon system and a heat recovery ventilator to efficiently mitigate the indoor air quality within all of the homes we build.

The Playground sofa is created to satisfy the need for combining sofa and bed.
Our idea with the Playground sofa is to offer a multi-purpose piece of furniture that is both flexible and mobile. Playground meets these requirements.
Placed as back support you then have the perfect sofa where you sit comfortably in all positions and on all seats. Place it as arm support and you have a comfortable chaise long. Place it on the floor and you can make a 'nest' where you can enjoy watching TV or reading.
Solid-wood frame with Nozag-spring seat-base, covered with polyurethane foam in a 600 g pre-compressed, fibre-fill wrap. The free movable backs consists of 100% foam. Back cushion filling is 100% down and small duck feathers sewn into a ribbed, feather-proof cambric casing. To retain the feather cushion’s appearance and shape, regular fluffing-up and airing are recommended. The Playground Sofa is available with fabric or leather upholstery.
Dimensions: 83" L x 45" W x 35" H - seat height 15"

Located above the coast of Malibu, this two-story concrete and glass home is organized into a series of bands that hug the hillside and a central circulation spine. Living spaces are compressed between the retaining walls that hold back the earth and a series of glass facades facing the ocean and Santa Monica Bay. The name of the project stems from the physical and psychological protection provided by wearing reflective sunglasses. On the house the “glasses” allow for panoramic views of the ocean while also reflecting the landscape back onto the exterior face of the building.

If you’re looking for an excellent flooring option then look to cork floating planks. These planks don’t need adhesive as they click and lock together. The honeycomb cell construction of cork allows it to be both compressible and supple. Because of this, cork floors are exceedingly durable and perform as excellent noise and thermal insulators; cork will dent or warp when subjected to pressure, but will return to its original form as a part of its inherent 'memory'. Take a look at floating cork flooring today and see the wide selection available

If you want a flooring material that gets the job done with few drawbacks then go with floating cork flooring. Cork will bring your floors beauty without losing the functionality that makes it one of the best on the market. Here’s but a bit of what it can do. Only the bark of the cork oak tree is used, the tree is left standing, so cork is considered a “green” material. It’s very cellular construction deems it hypoallergenic, anti-microbial and non-toxic. Cork is elastic and compressible, which makes it very comfortable underfoot and durable. Great benefits with few drawbacks, add floating cork flooring to your home today.

Architects’ design for this home drew upon classic shingle style influences to create a highly articulated exterior. Interiors lead to a sense of compression with intimate spaces and lofty rooms. Hierarchical elements include its monumental chimneys, the “tower” at the heart of the home, and the two story bay windows that dominate one end of its façade. Playful shingle style details such as the eyebrow window lend a whimsical tough to the traditional lines and spaces of the house.
