We used the existing bathroom footprint to place a large shower which hidden niches, a window, and a built-in bench. The commode room took the place of the old shower. The original ‘master’ bedroom was divided in half to provide space for the walk-in closet and their new master bathroom. The clients have, what we dubbed, a classy eclectic aesthetic and we wanted to embrace that with the materials. The 3 x 12 ceramic tile is Fireclay’s Tidewater glaze. The soft variation of a handmade tile plus the herringbone pattern installation makes for a real show stopper. We chose a 3 x 6 marble subway with blue and green veining to compliment the feature tile. The chrome and oil-rubbed bronze metal mix was carefully planned based on where we wanted to add brightness and where we wanted contrast. Chrome was a no-brainer for the shower because we wanted to let the Fireclay tile shine. Over at the vanity, we wanted the fixtures to pop so we opted for oil-rubbed bronze. With a little imagination and some supplies you can convert Styrofoam oval balls into dinosaur eggs. I used brown craft paper soaked in flour and water mixture and layered it right over the foam. Let dry over night then spray a bit of glittle.

The pool remodel was to convert this pool to now have an auto cover, baja shelf with a state of the art spa. The client is a swimmer so we installed some tile lines using colored glass. Pool coping is one pour of concrete then tooled in place and sand blasted after it cured.

This Lino Lakes couple recently inherited a host of family heirlooms that needed to be blended with the desire for more functional, modern open kitchen design and a converted dining room space. Since the project also involved repair of water damage in the adjacent lower level, additional upgrades were brought into play resulting in a built-in wall-size bookcase integrated with a fireplace surround and mounted TV. In the end, this couple was happy to eliminate the unused formal living room, transitioning it into a much larger contiguous dining room with space to decorate with family heirlooms and furniture. This was a laundry room that we converted to a mudroom. The cabinetry is Wellborn Premier with Henlow Square doors (finish - Glacier). The walls are PVC beaded board. Our customer wanted a large bench seat with ample hanging storage for coats and dry cleaning. The shelving area on the left serves as a drop zone for phones and other devices (so they can be left out of sight/mind when desired with plenty of power to charge them. The lighting is Lotus 4" wafer lights (3000k).
