We laded on painting the cabinetry, new counters, new back splash, lighting, and floors. We also refaced the corner fireplace in the living room with a natural stacked stone and mantle. The powder bath got a little facelift too and convinced another victim... we mean the client that wallpaper was a must.

The combination of white and wood-stained cabinets with the wide-plank, wood floor creates a warm-cool “temperature” in this suburban Chicago bachelor’s kitchen. It also fulfilled my client’s desire for walnut wood elements. For architectural interest and heft, I added crown molding to all of the cabinetry. The crisp edges of the raised-panel cabinets, the countertops and the cabinet hardware give the space masculine appeal without going overboard. I convinced my client to choose durable, easily maintained Dekton countertops instead of the marble he requested, which can be a high-maintenance surface. This "after" photo shows the new design of the shower. The client loved the mosaic tile and I convinced them to install the mosaic on the exterior wall of the shower so they can see the mosaic every time they enter the room.

Complementing the existing neo-classical architecture, we designed a bright transitional kitchen with walnut accents. We convinced the client to go electric with a bosch induction cooktop and range, stainless steel fridge, and drawer microwave (not pictured). Mixed metals with hardware and lighting help to bring this beautiful kitchen to life! Oh, and a car-sized island clad in this gorgeous dolomite we found at Absolute Stone.
