In this formerly unfinished room above a garage, we were tasked with creating the ultimate kids’ space that could easily be used for adult guests as well. Our space was limited, but our client’s imagination wasn’t! Bold, fun, summertime colors, layers of pattern, and a strong emphasis on architectural details make for great vignettes at every turn. With many collaborations and revisions, we created a space that sleeps 8, offers a game/project table, a cozy reading space, and a full bathroom. The game table and banquette, bathroom vanity, locker wall, and unique bunks were custom designed by Bayberry Cottage and all allow for tons of clever storage spaces. This is a space created for loved ones and a lifetime of memories of a fabulous lakefront vacation home!

Our clients already had a cottage on Torch Lake that they loved to visit. It was a 1960s ranch that worked just fine for their needs. However, the lower level walkout became entirely unusable due to water issues. After purchasing the lot next door, they hired us to design a new cottage. Our first task was to situate the home in the center of the two parcels to maximize the view of the lake while also accommodating a yard area. Our second task was to take particular care to divert any future water issues. We took necessary precautions with design specifications to water proof properly, establish foundation and landscape drain tiles / stones, set the proper elevation of the home per ground water height and direct the water flow around the home from natural grade / drive. Our final task was to make appealing, comfortable, living spaces with future planning at the forefront. An example of this planning is placing a master suite on both the main level and the upper level. Tasked with using existing furniture and limited furnishing options on the island this owner did not want the typical beach house with the aquas and the shells. We replaced the tiled floors with wood, chose a neutral and unifying color, reupholstered the leather couch, brought in a mirrored chest, mirror, candle holders, rug and art work. #notabeachhouse

This little guy was growing out of his crib and changing table and needed an update to his room. His parents are avid golfers and he in turn has picked up the sport. His parents requested a room that he can grow in to, so the space will last many years before having to redesign it again. His mom suggested a golf theme room and I loved the idea, so we rolled with it. We kept the original plantation shutters and millwork and built a toddler-friendly space he can enjoy for years and years. I had my muralist paint an argyle wall to set the tone. I used new custom furniture combined with some store bought pieces. Accessorizing the space was a fun task. Instead of using store bought items, I had some custom wall art made for him to personalize the space. I had his great grandmother’s golf clubs mounted onto graphic green and white fabric studded with chrome nailheads. An Etsy seller made us a custom metal piece with all their favorite golf brands. Another Etsy seller made us wall hooks fashioned from golf balls. No golf theme room would be complete without a putting green, so had one of those thrown in to so he can practice his putts. He now loves his new room and enjoys spending time in there (not to mention now sleeping in there too!).

These homeowners were anxiously ready to remodel their dated 80’s kitchen and reached out to Renovisions to handle the transformation. In this new undertaking we met to discuss plans to brighten the dark room with custom painted white inset cabinets, adding more functional storage, better task lighting and GE Monogram appliances, new hardwood flooring throughout and creating a better flow into the adjacent family room. In order to open up the space, Renovisions suggested creating an angle at the peninsula. Continuing with this approach we replaced the rear door with a new one-light door that swings out instead of in to accommodate new bar stools and a better flow of traffic in and out to the deck outside. Silestone’s quartz countertops in ‘Merope’ were the perfect choice adding a nice contrast yet truly durable and low maintenance. Creating a beautifully unique subway tile niche in linen color at cooktop area and backsplash added an elegant touch to the overall look and homeowners were thrilled with this refreshing look after the Renovision. Now their newly renovated kitchen is a showcase and nicely outfitted for family and friends.

This exceptional family home on the Upper North Shore has been designed for all year round entertaining. The home flows easily from the front entrance through the open plan living rooms through to the kitchen and outdoor living areas. The kitchen has been cleverly divided to provide additional storage and allows room for a sizable, walk-in butler’s pantry. Fitted with an additional sink means food can be prepared and dishes stored out of sight when entertaining. Gitani Stone, Ancient Reef island bench, Sareen Stone mosaic splashback and pewter handles transform what is predominantly a white kitchen into a vibrant living and working space. Practicality and ease of use were a must for this kitchen: custom cabinetry was designed and manufactured in Art of Kitchens Mt Kuring-gai factory and fitted with the latest Blum internal hardware. Miele appliances are featured throughout the kitchen. The kitchen is beautifully lit with a combination of ambient, task, and general lighting: natural light streams through the large windows and french doors, LED ceiling lights enhance the natural lighting and under cabinet lighting provides task lighting. Art of Kitchens completed the interior kitchen, outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and custom bedroom joinery in this brand new Upper North Shore Meadowbank Home.
