Lighting within this kitchen was layered in a way that creates a very dynamic environment at night. With pendant lights chosen by the interior designer, the remainder of the lighting was architectural in nature. Architectural grade adjustable pinhole accent lights were aimed at task areas throughout the kitchen. The cabinets are filled with light under, within and above. The cove light was cut into the sloped ceiling to give a soft general light to the room

This exceptional family home on the Upper North Shore has been designed for all year round entertaining. The home flows easily from the front entrance through the open plan living rooms through to the kitchen and outdoor living areas.
The kitchen has been cleverly divided to provide additional storage and allows room for a sizable, walk-in butler’s pantry. Fitted with an additional sink means food can be prepared and dishes stored out of sight when entertaining.
Gitani Stone, Ancient Reef island bench, Sareen Stone mosaic splashback and pewter handles transform what is predominantly a white kitchen into a vibrant living and working space.
Practicality and ease of use were a must for this kitchen: custom cabinetry was designed and manufactured in Art of Kitchens Mt Kuring-gai factory and fitted with the latest Blum internal hardware. Miele appliances are featured throughout the kitchen.
The kitchen is beautifully lit with a combination of ambient, task, and general lighting: natural light streams through the large windows and french doors, LED ceiling lights enhance the natural lighting and under cabinet lighting provides task lighting.
Art of Kitchens completed the interior kitchen, outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and custom bedroom joinery in this brand new Upper North Shore Meadowbank Home.

This creative transitional space was transformed from a very dated layout that did not function well for our homeowners - who enjoy cooking for both their family and friends. They found themselves cooking on a 30" by 36" tiny island in an area that had much more potential. A completely new floor plan was in order. An unnecessary hallway was removed to create additional space and a new traffic pattern. New doorways were created for access from the garage and to the laundry. Just a couple of highlights in this all Thermador appliance professional kitchen are the 10 ft island with two dishwashers (also note the heated tile area on the functional side of the island), double floor to ceiling pull-out pantries flanking the refrigerator, stylish soffited area at the range complete with burnished steel, niches and shelving for storage. Contemporary organic pendants add another unique texture to this beautiful, welcoming, one of a kind kitchen! Photos by David Cobb Photography.

When we found out we were expecting in June, we had already put a plan in motion to merge our home offices to eventually make way for a nursery. After the excitement of the big news we kicked it into high gear!
First off we painted the room a crisp white to contrast from the past 2 tone dark office colours. Our amazing painter Carolyn from Roll Her Sleeves then traced out and painted our vision for the mural. At first we wanted to go very minimal but after looking at it for a few weeks, we asked her to come back and add a forefront layer of grey mountains, details in the peaks and the yellow sun.
During that time the search for the perfect modern crib was on. We found the Hudson model from Babyletto which we loved from one of our suppliers in the states but after duties and shipping it ended up being more practical to buy it here in town.
At the Artemano opening we hosted in November, we connected with Jonathan from Obasan mattresses. He graciously offered to supply us with one of their locally made high quality mattresses. We can’t wait for our baby boy to sleep on it!
Our rocking chair has quite the story behind it. We originally found it for $8 ( yes eight ) dollars last spring. We weren’t sure at the time where and how we were going to use it so we had stored it in one of the garages where we were keeping furniture for an ongoing model home project. One morning we arrived and noticed the chair was missing. We made a call to our construction contact and he relayed the message. Next thing we know a worker was jumping in the garbage bins across the street. They had believed the chair was to be thrown away. Although a bit dusty it was recovered in decent shape. A few months passed and we started entertaining the idea of using it as our rocker. We asked Melissa’s dad if he would be interested in converting it to a rocker for us, and always up for a challenge he accepted and came through big time! At least was the task of reupholstering. We kind of liked the fun bright orange it was but decided to keep it safe with a nice grey material.
After trying numerous curtains ( we lost count ) we finally settled on a old fav, the west elm chevrons. As well, 3 or 4 rugs were attempted until we tried the yellow rug from Urban Barn and instantly knew that was the one.
We slid a couple small Ikea hacks in there. We wrapped an inexpensive floor lamp with rope to give it a different look ( and hide the silver since everything is brass ) and spray painted the shelf hinges to match the rest of the finishes.

Inspiration for a small contemporary built-in desk light wood floor home office remodel in Dallas with blue walls

This couple came to us as newly transplanted homeowners in Sterling, MA, uprooted from Rochester, MA so they could be closer to their growing family and granddaughter.
The former kitchen was a bit of a “Plain Jane”, but we transformed it into a charming, modern country farmhouse kitchen. The custom paint color on the cabinets came from a Wood-Mode sample called “Agate.” This lovely paint color is a chameleon, ranging from gray/green, to a beautiful blue hue depending on the lighting conditions. The uniqueness of this color is what caught the homeowner’s eye and it has become a customer favorite. This Sterling home is the perfect setting for such a beautiful color!
As a trained chef and former restaurant owner, the husband does all the cooking in the house. Ample room was needed for prepping and serving, so he loves the long, wide peninsula. A full-height quartz backsplash behind the range and sink make for easy clean up.
Very deep drawers flank both sides of the range, and the top drawer has special storage for spices. The cabinet over the refrigerator has vertical partitions for both cookie sheets, trays and pans. A tall pantry to the right of the refrigerator is equipped with heavy duty wood rollouts perfect for storing dry goods. Conveniently located to the right of the sink is a double trash cabinet. The end of the peninsula also has a 27” wide cabinet with dual rollouts storing small appliances, casserole dishes & Tupperware.
The new space has plenty of room for prepping, cooking and entertaining family and guests in the adjacent dining room. Stepping outside the “white & gray” of common paints into this beautiful custom color has delighted these customers and their friends. We find it both inviting and soothing, a cool color that will be stylish for years to come!

These homeowners were anxiously ready to remodel their dated 80’s kitchen and reached out to Renovisions to handle the transformation. In this new undertaking we met to discuss plans to brighten the dark room with custom painted white inset cabinets, adding more functional storage, better task lighting and GE Monogram appliances, new hardwood flooring throughout and creating a better flow into the adjacent family room. In order to open up the space, Renovisions suggested creating an angle at the peninsula. Continuing with this approach we replaced the rear door with a new one-light door that swings out instead of in to accommodate new bar stools and a better flow of traffic in and out to the deck outside. Silestone’s quartz countertops in ‘Merope’ were the perfect choice adding a nice contrast yet truly durable and low maintenance. Creating a beautifully unique subway tile niche in linen color at cooktop area and backsplash added an elegant touch to the overall look and homeowners were thrilled with this refreshing look after the Renovision.
Now their newly renovated kitchen is a showcase and nicely outfitted for family and friends.

We sourced this historic 100-year old workbench that was given a second life by adding new plumbing with a cast iron sink, and custom fabricated shelving that houses new electrical for soft overhead task lighting. We partnered with a local fabricator to make this dream into a reality. It's the perfect place for our client to prepare her beautiful bouquets.

A new bench seat and desk area bring function into this teens bedroom. Storage was incorporated in the bench along with an open space for display. A variety of fabrics were grouped together to create a seamless tackable panel behind the computer for photos and memorabilia. Photo Credit: Miro Dvorscak
