Originally, as a designer, my desire was common drama. I surrounded the salt water spa with a cloud 'Morning Lights' miscanthus grass. Not very unique. The install by a different contractor was deeply affected by the economic crash of 2008 and we were "gifted" the opportunity of readdressing the resultant issues. Two years having passed in my own design path, I grew more confidant in my own aesthetics and suggested we do something more dynamic. Grasses abound, so intrinsic to water-scapes- our western version of wind whispering through tropical palm leaves. But we introduced variety in color and form. It's quite lovely :) Gigi

This project had some special meaning to the home owner. She is a 2 time cancer survivor who won the toughest battle of her life in regaining custody of her daughter. Her experiences taught her the importance of cherishing the moments and living life to the fullest. This Nautical themed kitchen adorns a home that overlooks the Western Coast line of San Francisco. Customer Navy Blue cabinets represent the deep that lies just beyond the back yard while the Marble Starburst mosaic backsplash explodes with contrast. Simple and timeless subway tile wrap the perimeter of the kitchen...and how about those brass handles?! Enjoy the view of waves crashing when looking out the window from the farm style sink. Although the drastic change of colors and styles gave new life to this kitchen; the vintage mixer and bistro table made of re-purposed wood pay homage to things of the past.

There's nothing like Mickey to brighten up your child's day. The funny thing is that this person knows how to decorate better than a hotel room at Disney World. Sometimes there are simply not enough rooms in your home to accommodate your guests, so what better idea than to have the in laws or your parents crash the little rugrats room and sleep with them. Your senior citizen parents won't complain sleeping on a futon, it's much more comfortable than the pull out sofa bed or click clack "futon". As long as you know how to choose the right type of mattress, your futon will look better and sit and sleep better than any conventional couch or sofa. Many futon cover manufactures to COM. So if you happen to have any Mickey fabric, it could also be made into a futon cover.

It is the busiest door in the house. People often come in and out with their hands full. The windowless laundry room is on the other side so the door needed to be vented. The porthole fit the style and prevents crashes.

Our client wanted a modern twist on the classics for little Carter. We chose various blues and whites for our boy; but notice the fun patterns on the ceiling and sheets. There’s a refined minimalist design with the furniture that feels timeless but looks 21st century. Transitioning, a new baby isn’t just for the parents; grandparents have to make room, also. They opted for a more traditional approach for grandbaby number 1. To accommodate, we installed soft lacy curtains and blankets for our special man. There’s also antique plates and mirrors to reflect a more mature design that matches the rest of their home. We loved creating two unique environments, connecting generations to come.
