This inviting bath is ingenious with its creative floor plan and use of materials. The owners requested that this space be functional but also distinctive and artistic. They didn’t want plain Jane.
The remodel started with moving some walls and adding a skylight. Prior it was without windows and had poor ventilation. The skylight lets in natural light and fresh air. It operates with a remote, when it rains, it closes automatically with its solar powered sensor. Since the space is small and they needed a full bathroom, making the room feel large was an important part of the design layout.
To achieve a broad visual footprint for the small space and open feel many pieces were raised off the floor. To start a wall hung vanity was installed which looks like its floating. The vanity has glass laminated panels and doors. Fabric was laminated in the glass for a one-of-kind surface. The countertop and sink are molded from one piece of glass. A high arc faucet was used to enhance the sleek look of the vanity. Above sconces that look like rock crystals are on either side of a recessed medicine cabinet with a large mirror. All these features increase the open feel of the bathroom.
Keeping with the plan a wall hung toilet was used. The new toilet also includes a washlet with an array of automatic features that are fun and functional such as a night light, auto flush and more. The floor is always toasty warm with in-floor heating that even reaching into the shower.
Currently, a simple console table has been placed with artwork above it. Later a wall hung cabinet will be installed for some extra storage.
The shower is generous in size and comfort. An enjoyable feature is that a folding bench was include in the plan. The seat can be up or down when needed with ease. It also has a hand shower and its own set of controls conveniently close at hand to use while sitting. The bench is made of teak (warm to sit on, and easy care). A convenient niche with shelves can accommodate numerous items. The glass door is wide for easy access with a curbless entry and an infinity drain was used so the floor seamlessly blends with the rest of this space.
All the finishes used are distinctive. Zebrano Marble, a very striking stone with rivers of veining, accents the vanity and a wall in the shower. The floor tile is a porcelain tile that mimics the look of leather, with a very tactile look and feel. The other tile used has a unique geometric pattern that compliments the other materials exquisitely.
With thoughtful design and planning this space feels open, and uniquely personal to the homeowners.

Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery were commissioned by interior designer Amelia Carter to build and install this stunning suite of bespoke fitted wardrobes for her client’s residential property.
The high-end bedroom storage solution is exquisitely customised with premium materials, tailored layouts and specialised finishes.
Key features of this luxury wardrobe design include micro shaker doors, high quality wallpaper panel inserts, integrated TV and desk space, with no mounting brackets or cables on show.
These custom-made built-in wardrobes feature a distinctive breakfront design, where the middle section protrudes slightly forward from the two flanking side units, creating a 3D architectural look.
We installed the decorative cornice across the front of the cabinetry, so it ties in seamlessly with the rest of the room.
Micro shaker door style
The door style is micro shaker (or slim shaker). The defining feature is a very slim outer frame, significantly narrower than a typical shaker door design. Traditional shaker cabinets have a relatively thick frame giving a sense of prominence to the design. In contrast, the slimmer frame of micro shaker cabinets gives the doors a more current, refined and understated look.
Wallpapered inset panels
The wardrobe doors feature wallpapered inset panels. The paper is Indigo Garden by Borrastapeter. The hand-painted print picturing a garden landscape is inspired by traditional Japanese art. The timelessly elegant pattern gives a restful ambience to the room, transforming the doors into works of art. We custom-matched the paint colour and flawlessly spray-applied with a 30% sheen finish.
Bespoke radiator cover
The bespoke radiator cover elegantly conceals a tall, unsightly radiator. This was crafted by us in aluminium with a colour-matched finish. The grille pattern allows heat to pass through, while also adding visual sophistication to the room, perfectly merging decoration and utility. Unlike wood, which can block heat, aluminium has excellent thermal conductivity and is lightweight and durable.
Built-in desk and display shelves
A built-in desk with an open shelving unit is set on the righthand side and forms a seamless part of the wardrobe. The display area is illuminated with LED lighting integrated into the backs of the shelves.

This project is a good example of what can be done with a little refresh. Sometimes parts of your space work well and parts don’t, so a full gut and replace might not make sense. That was the case here.
After living with it for a decade or so realized they would really prefer two sinks in the vanity. Since there were two windows in the bathroom, we decided to eliminate the window to the left of the current vanity and replace with it with a longer run of cabinets.
The other window is to the right of the vanity let’s in beautiful morning light. The window we removed was a northern exposure and its location under an eave didn’t allow for much light, so it was the perfect solution!
In addition to the new vanity, we also changed out the countertop, added new mirrors and lighting, and changed out the tile floor to a larger hex with fewer grout lines. This adds a brighter more modern look while still maintaining the vintage feel of the room.
The shower was in great shape, so we left that as is except for swapping out the shower floor tile to match the main floor and adding a more updated decorative mosaic tile. We added a new toilet and for a bit of luxury a heated towel bar.

The challenge: Create a dual office that can be closed and secured when the weather turns ugly and soccer practice comes inside. In addition, incorporate design feature to redirect heat from wall-length baseboard.
The result: Large-scale custom cabinets open to reveal individualized offices—a balance of performance and design. Pocket doors disappear, creating leg room below and exposing open work areas above. File drawers are in abundance and a supply cabinet in between provides the two spaces with ample storage for office necessities. When closed, the doors protect computers and technology creating a barrier against whatever life throws at them. An inset backer board channels heat from baseboard to air vents above and below cabinets.
