BLUE RIBBON BUILDERS INCWith enormous rectangular beams and round log posts, the Spanish Peaks House is a spectacular study in contrasts. Even the exterior—with horizontal log slab siding and vertical wood paneling—mixes textures and styles beautifully. An outdoor rock fireplace, built-in stone grill and ample seating enable the owners to make the most of the mountain-top setting.
Inside, the owners relied on Blue Ribbon Builders to capture the natural feel of the home’s surroundings. A massive boulder makes up the hearth in the great room, and provides ideal fireside seating. A custom-made stone replica of Lone Peak is the backsplash in a distinctive powder room; and a giant slab of granite adds the finishing touch to the home’s enviable wood, tile and granite kitchen. In the daylight basement, brushed concrete flooring adds both texture and durability.

The centre section has a dining table for eight plus a large lounge area with outdoor gas fireplace. On the left are two comfy chairs with ottomans and a side table. Also included are a washroom, change room and bathroom with shower.

Betz Pools LimitedThe pool’s large tanning shelf is the perfect place to relax in the sun and offers the cooling benefit of dipping your toes in the water. With access to the spa being via the tanning shelf, users only need get their ankles wet. The glass tiles of the spa extend down the exterior wall to the bottom of the pool creating a sculptural look.
VanderHorn ArchitectsThe five bay main block of the façade features a pedimented center bay. Finely detailed dormers with arch top windows sit on a graduated slate roof, anchored by limestone topped chimneys.

The design for this magnificent Kleinburg backyard was a collaboration between the owners, their architect and the designers at Betz Pools. The result is pure elegance on a massive scale.

A few steps down, behind the curved end wall of the patio, is a massive underground bunker which houses the pool equipment and serves as a storage basement beneath the patio.

Betz Pools LimitedThe family, being of southern European heritage, enjoys warm summers and loves to do large group entertaining and to host big family gatherings. The focal point of the yard, a large 20’ x 50’ dry Gunite pool, looks in proportion when compared to the scale of the grand Tuscan style house and surrounding yard.

Vanity has a custom stain color of Weathered gray. The shiplap walls are painted with Sherwin Williams Sea Serpent.
Betz Pools LimitedAfter dark the whole backyard transforms thanks to a strategically placed array of LED garden lights. The pool and spa are both lit by a series of small LED lights which provide a soft even glow with no hot spots. The view from the home’s kitchen and octagonal-shaped dining room is sublime.
Betz Pools LimitedThe pool features a light green premium Pebble Sheen raised aggregate interior that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding deck in architectural acid etched concrete which mimics the look of limestone without having its tendency for staining. The pool’s coping is made from custom pre-formed sections of matching acid etched concrete.

All of them are translucent and each one contains metallic flecks that twinkle in a myriad of colours in different lights.
