BAHND DESIGN STUDIO is an architecture and design practice founded by Amanda Beethe to develop thoughtful, modern, sustainable architecture and design. They work with absolute dedication to the context of each project, ensuring that every space speaks to its owner in their own language. Their concepts draw inspiration from the place of each project: the history, nature and culture, and incorporate that into its future form.

Photo by Rowan Parris The owner spends most of her time in the dog trot when the weather allows. The sliding door consists of three separate units so that it can close off the entire 20 foot span. Baltic birch panels are sandwiched in the middle of the doors to add rigidity and prevent warping. The custom framed fireplace insert box was done in the same barn wood as the privacy screen.

You can see the cedar tongue and groove ceiling of the dog trot area from this view. The guest cabin has metal standing seam siding.

The glass on the south side has a higher SHGC and a lower U-Value than the glass on the other three elevations to take full advantage of it's southern exposure. The cedar Brise Soleil's (sun Shades) fully shade the glass in June and allow full sunlight in December.
