GA was hired to renovate this outdated apartment. We reorganized the kitchen into a more efficient layout and opened up the space as much as possible to the living room. We put in new dark wood flooring through out, and contrasted that with light gray walls. New recessed lighting throughout helps to define the different spaces. © Devon Banks

This master bathroom remodel was designed with relaxation in mind. Stepping through this modern, frosted barn door, a marvelous walk in shower, large vanity, lighted mirrors and luxury toilet are within this space. Porcelain tile, 12x24 Explorer Milan from Arizona Tile is through out the floor and walls. The walk in shower features a drying area at the entrance of the shower. A double vanity with a dark wood stain is also featured along with two LED mirrors. These mirrors are an up and coming trend due to its lighting features. The homeowners of this wanted to create an informal year-round residence for their active family that reflected their love of the outdoors and time spent in ski and camping lodges. The result is a luxurious, yet understated, comfortable kitchen/dining area that exudes a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The open floor plan offers views throughout the first floor, while large picture windows integrate the outdoors and fill the space with light. A door to the three-season room offers easy access to an outdoor kitchen and living area. The dark wood floors, cabinets with natural wood grain, leathered stone counters, and coffered ceilings offer the ambiance of a 19th century mountain lodge, yet this is combined with painted wainscoting and woodwork to brighten and modernize the space. A blue center island in the kitchen adds a fun splash of color, while a gas fireplace and lit upper cabinets adds a cozy feeling. A separate butler’s pantry contains additional refrigeration, storage, and a wine cooler. Challenges included integrating the perimeter cabinetry into the crown moldings and coffered ceilings, so the lines of millwork are aligned through multiple living spaces. In particular, there is a structural steel column on the corner of the raised island around which oak millwork was wrapped to match the living room columns. Another challenge was concealing second floor plumbing in the beams of the coffered ceiling.

When our client bought their lot in Broken Top they did not build for years. Living in San Diego,they decided in 2011 to build a vacation home/ future retirement abode. Natural mature landscaping surrounds the home giving it a settled-in feeling. This is a perfect home for retirees who host guests, or a small family. Inspiration for a mid-sized contemporary dark wood floor and brown floor hallway remodel in New York with white walls

This existing sleeping porch was reworked into a stunning Mid Century bathroom complete with geometric shapes that add interest and texture. Rich woods add warmth to the black and white tiles. Wood tile was installed on the shower walls and pick up on the wood vanity and Asian-inspired custom built armoire.
