Meoded Paint and Plaster roots began in Europe over 40 years ago, inspired by the Italian Renaissance and the master artisans of the period. The timeless beauty and lasting construction of the Venetian plaster materials of the time influenced Meoded’s move to the U.S., where we were the first to manufacture authentic lime-based zero VOC wet decorative plasters.
Meoded’s growth in the decorative paint and faux finish trade continues to thrive by adding other unique products such as the Sapphire Metallic paint line, Crystal Brush glitter paints and Pearlas Velvet suede finishes. All of our products are eco-friendly and easy to apply. Our reputation is built on the word of mouth from loyal customers who not only trust the high quality products, but also enjoy the friendly environment and support from the helpful and talented team of experts on staff.

I flanked the fireplace with two green velvet chairs and some artwork and began to decorate the mantel. Since the bright colors of Fall can be seen in all their glory outside all of my windows, I decide this year I could temper my seasonal style indoors with a more subdued display.
My decor inspiration this year was Scottish Highland. I imagined how Fall might look in an old European manor, where branches and berries and leaves were gathered together and placed on the mantel in a family heirloom vase. Next to these items I pictured books gathered and candlesticks with pumpkins and gourds. The effect would feel 'decorated', but natural, a classic gathering of the outdoors moving in, in an elegant way where home and nature blend in a sophisticated Scottish style.

When our clients approached us to renovate their 1950s Newfoundland home, their goal was to modernize while reflecting both their West Coast roots and current East Coast lifestyle. What began as a simple ensuite repair expanded into a full home transformation, completed in two thoughtfully phased renovations. Drawing from our cross-coastal experience—and a personal connection to the home’s past—we blended classic East Coast charm with West Coast simplicity. From reworking the layout and finishes to integrating their art collection and layering in warm, tactile materials, every detail was designed to feel cohesive, inviting, and deeply personal.

Transitional bathrooms are defined as combining elements of one design era with those of another. Oftentimes the design elements are from adjacent eras, where one prevalent design and decoration style began to give way to another.
A shower stall can also carry a transitional theme forward. An open format, stand-up shower with glass walls and doors strikes a particularly modern pose. By pairing this design with the traditional bearing of a large porcelain tiles, to add even greater visual interest, artisanal aesthetic and gravity to the design, different design influences and eras can be seamlessly incorporated. Mixing and matching modern or vintage toilet designs is also an option, as they too can create contrast with contemporary or traditional elements of a transitional design.
