The red brick walls have been coated with a gray plaster, and the beams and lintels have been painted with layers of color to give them the appearance of weathered gray wood.

This custom Rumford fireplace was designed to be efficient (both in its Rumford design as well as being provided with its own exterior fresh air supply) and fabricated using stone and brick sourced from an historic cellar hole of the long-since-passed farmhouse that was original to this property. The hand-made 18th century bricks and stone have been given new life in this new home. The hearth, lintel, and mantel were locally sourced and crafted from granite.
