The newest remodeling project on this Cape Cod was all about planning for the future and aging in place. Two women combined resources to create an environment where they can share a home, yet each enjoys her own private space. We added a second master bedroom suite with a walk-in shower and soaking tub, walk-in closet, and sitting area. We also expanded the kitchen to accommodate two cooks. This house had been deteriorating and in use as a rental until 2005 when a series of renovations were begun to erase years of neglect. An awkward daylight basement was gutted down to bare earth to create a guest suite, extra kitchen, storage, laundry, and media room. The walls of the main floor were re-plastered to eliminate a heavy stucco texture. The kitchen and powder room were gutted. And a breakfast room was re-imagined as a small TV room and lounge off the kitchen. One of the four bedrooms on the top floor was converted to a home office while the smallest of the bedrooms was converted to a walk-in-closet.

Built in the early 1900’s, this home is rich in Princeton history. The ballroom addition was actually moved from downtown Princeton in the 1920’s. Meticulous planning and care were taken in every aspect of this restoration. Highlights include a kitchen addition with an 11’ skylight, custom cabinetry throughout and a European antique wood floor finish.

Inspiration for a dining room remodel in Chicago

Great care was taken in choosing the finishes for this traditional colonial. The exterior brick is laid in a Flemish bond pattern. Rock faced lintels, keystones and sills complement the exterior as does the dentil molding along the fascia.
