Natural, calm, family-centered. This client knew what she wanted and just needed some assistance getting there. Susan helped her out with imagery and product research, a first floor furniture plan and several working meetings to nail down the built-in functionality and look in the dining-room-turned-office/family drop-zone. Cork floors installed throughout give the home a warm and eco-friendly foundation. Pine-cones, tree trunk cookies, plants and lots of unstained wood make the family's focus on nature clear. She brings a personalization that feels like getting advice from a family member at the same time adding helpful details of her industry knowledge. Exterior forms are emphasized with glass and fiber-cement panels at the top level, soaring over and sheltering containers clad in tougher, leathery Corten Steel at the ground level. Exposed concrete walls and rock-filled gabion retaining was selected to anchor the partially day-lighted basement level and garages to the land. Materials were chosen to be low-maintenance, relatively inexpensive, and to contrast the volumes that express the interior spaces.

This master bathroom is an oasis of clean, bright design with an abundance of natural light. Our Miami clients wanted a contemporary space, and we gave them hyper modernism with custom materials imported from Italy. A glass walk-in shower with sleek fixtures is a subtle touch to balance the dramatic artwork. Residential space in North Park's newest building by Jeff Svitak. Space was decorated for a couple who support local artists and love music. We started with a soft velvet sofa (color: moss) that instantly softened this large concrete space. While working around this sofa, we came across the walnut furniture set - it blended right in with the earthy feel we were going for. Plants have a power of bringing any space to life so we added the intertwining money tree and a soft green tree (supposed to be a fast grower). Once the furnishings were in, we added the artwork - a final touch to make this space a client's home. photo - Hale Productions
