Kitchen from condo renovation in Upper West Side, Manhattan.
ABOUT THE RENOVATION
Very often, getting what you want is simply about timing. After years of owning her Upper West Side co-op in Lincoln Square and making various small renovations along the way, our client decided to go all-out and advance with her dream renovation after being eased into the significant decision by our full-service design-build approach, extensive pre-planning process, out of the box design strategy, and thorough estimate. The results of this stunning renovation speak for themselves.
SPACIOUS CENTERPIECE KITCHEN
With many condos in Manhattan, the kitchen is the home’s focal point. In this case, the client’s goal was to reinvigorate this critical space via a classic interior design style with modern and contemporary touches. Beyond introducing updated appliances and pendant lighting, we added immaculate natural stone countertops and backsplash, along with opaque Tribeca shaker cabinets throughout the space.
TWO BATHROOMS, TWICE AS NICE
When the opportunity to add a bathroom to your Manhattan condo presents itself, you take advantage. Part of our renovation of this USW condo included an additional bathroom, in addition to a total overhaul of the ensuite bathroom. For the main bath, we turned the dreary old space into a soft and elegant sanctuary that’s warming as the sunlight beaming in, thanks to the sleek nickel-finish fixtures and custom marble tile. In the newly-created guest bathroom, we delivered an upscale, timeless design incorporating gleaming subway tiles, bold brass fixtures, and exquisite deco hexagon flooring.
PERMA-WFH OFFICE WITH CUSTOM MURPHY BED & STORAGE
After being thrust into a permanent work from home schedule due to the pandemic, our client decided to incorporate more of a formal home office space into her guest bedroom - a space where she also required additional storage. The problem was she didn't want to give up the practicality of a spare bedroom. To maintain the added bedroom availability and also provide a proper office space, we created a custom Murphy bed and desk area with custom millwork for enhanced organization with a perfectly narrow personal desk area nestled to the left of the large built-in.
ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
- We Incorporated Various Square/hexagon Features Throughout The Space, Per Client Preference
- Laundry Relocation For Added Space And Preference

The modern kitchen boasts a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The centerpiece is a large white island, its smooth surface gleaming under recessed lighting. Stainless steel appliances flank the back wall, their sleek lines reflecting the light. Dark hardwood floors ground the space, adding warmth and a touch of contrast. Ample storage is hidden within the white cabinets, their clean lines uninterrupted by hardware.
While minimalist, the kitchen doesn't lack personality. A cluster of pendant lamps in brushed chrome hangs above the island, casting a warm glow. A pop of color graces the backsplash – perhaps a mosaic tile in shades of blue and green, adding a touch of visual interest. Sunlight streams through the window, highlighting the breakfast bar tucked into one end of the island, perfect for casual meals or catching up with loved ones.

In this project Lazar has created another of his hyper-livable top floors—half indoors, half outdoors—that could arguably be the beating heart of the home. A sunny gathering space and gourmet kitchen are gathered under an elevated ceiling. Lined with windows and stocked with gleaming counters, the big room opens onto an equally spacious ocean-view deck that could morph either way: as everyday living space or party central. In the gleaming skyline of Dubai, where architectural marvels reach toward the heavens, interior spaces demand equal brilliance. Antonovich Group, renowned for their modern interior design villa Dubai expertise, has expanded their mastery to the luxury apartment sector, delivering bespoke residential experiences that redefine vertical living.
Their recent apartment project in Downtown Dubai showcases the firm's exceptional ability to translate the grandeur of villa design into more compact yet equally sophisticated urban spaces. The residence received a comprehensive transformation that eliminated standard apartment constraints through innovative spatial reconfiguration and custom architectural interventions.
"Luxury apartment design requires a different approach than villa interiors," explains Antonovich Group's design director. "We focus on creating the perception of expanded space while maintaining the intimate comfort that makes an apartment feel like home."
The company's signature approach begins with architectural enhancement—removing non-essential walls, raising ceiling heights where structurally possible, and installing floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize natural light and panoramic views. These fundamental changes create the canvas upon which Antonovich Group applies their design artistry.
What truly distinguishes their apartment projects is the attention to bespoke elements. Rather than relying on standard solutions for furnishing apartment Dubai residences, Antonovich Group creates custom pieces scaled precisely for each space. From built-in seating that maximizes floor area to multifunctional furnishings that adapt to different needs, every element serves both aesthetic and practical purposes.
Materials play a crucial role in their apartment designs, with selections that would typically be found in the most exclusive modern interior design villa Dubai projects. Italian marble, exotic woods, bronze accents, and artisanal glass create a rich sensory experience that elevates the entire residence.

Tucked into a leafy street in Sleightsburgh across from Kingston’s Rondout waterfront sits a freshly reborn 19th-century Second Empire home with a mansard roof that gleams like an epaulet in the autumn light. It’s the site of the seventh annual Kingston Design Showhouse—an event that’s equal parts creative laboratory, professional showcase, and social mixer for the Hudson Valley design community—that runs through October 26.
The house at 271 Second Avenue had good bones when designer Ana Claudia of Rhinebeck-based Ana Claudia Design took on its gut renovation earlier this year. The transformation added a third bedroom and bath, and—hallelujah—closets in every bedroom. Claudia oversaw the architectural overhaul and designed the showhouse’s open kitchen and dining room, a bright, breezy space that wears its sophistication lightly. Her bird-patterned green wallpaper from Fromental flutters above a handcrafted dining table, bench, and stools by Stone Ridge woodworker Andrew Finnegan. Ceiling lights and sconces from Kingston-based RBW cast the room in warm modern light, while clear switch plates by Corston add a note of barely-there precision. It’s the sort of room that makes you think life could be this orderly and elegant, if only for a weekend.
