This completed Rochester, WA project features a spacious composite backyard deck designed for relaxed outdoor living and easy entertaining. Finished in a very light brown composite decking, the layout keeps the space open and inviting while creating plenty of room for seating, shade, and gathering around the home. This photo highlights the broad, surrounding steps that give the deck a more custom look and make access feel easy from multiple directions. With no railings to interrupt the layout, the design feels more open to the yard and better suited for casual backyard use. The furniture, red umbrella, and canopy help show how the space functions as a practical extension of the home for sitting, relaxing, and hosting outdoors.

These natural steps help to transition from a formal to a natural area.

The previous area shown was a set of slate steps spanning the length of the wall that is now there. We installed a concrete footing and foundation with red brick wrapped and a formed and poured concrete cap. Metric formed and poured the steps with walk behind it. The project took 1 week total and was a huge success. We have been contracted back to the same site for additional concrete work.
