Katrina is amazing. She listens to your needs and creates absolute magic. I used to cringe when I approached the property, but now, I look forward to viewing it. When discussing my vision for said property, I wanted water saving, drought tolerant plants to fit my budget and Katrina ran with it. Using her horticultural knowledge and creative design acumen, she transformed my vision into a reality. She was with me from the design, through the planting, and still checks on the plants. Katrina Coombs is a both very knowledgeable and creative designer. She took a neglected front yard and listened thoughtfully. She then designed a space that used an existing palo verde tree as a main focus. Alvoe Vera, cacti, lantana, rock rose etc. lived in supporting mulch beds. Three tea trees (one existing had it’s tea form restored) became part of the larger design. Many plants were existing entities, transplanted as appropriate. A drip system took care of watering needs Large pavers created an appropriate walking area. Again, Katrina will satisfy your need for creative, knowledgeable designer. I highly recommend her.

I highly recommend Katrina. She transformed our backyard into a beautiful, functional space that my entire family enjoys. It was very easy to work with Katrina. She was a good listener and incorporated our needs into her design. We also appreciated that she had an encyclopedic knowledge of plants and could reuse many of the plants already in our yard, thus making the most of our budget. Katrina has a great vision for hardscape - she created a gorgeous deck that wraps around an already-existing spa, which really integrated the spa with the rest of our space. Overall, Katrina is a talented designer and delightful to work with.

Katrina and her crew did an exceptional job with our landscape project. She totally redesigned the front and backyard, adding pavers, drought tolerant plants and grasses, and new modern drip irrigation. We had a vague idea of what we wanted to do, and she came in and designed the rest. The plants fit the house and look good together. We couldn't be happier with her advice and the final results. We hired Katrina Coombs, principal of Outside In Style, to create and implement a plan for our small front and back yards. Her design skills are very strong. Not only was the landscaping beautifully conceived, with drought resistant plants and mostly native species, the the pergola she designed for our back deck was truly spectacular. Katrina is a highly gifted designer! She was responsive to any and all requests--although we are not micro-managers--and is about as personable a person as you will meet. She was a pleasure to work with and was virtually always available for any questions we might have. Her sub-contractors were a little less consistent. The gentleman she brought in to build the pergola is a builder with great skill, refined taste and utmost flexibility. He was a gem and we would consider using him in his own right if we needed any construction work on our house. The firm she hired to actually create the landscaping was not as consistently committed and present as the others. I think that if you were to discuss the choice of subs with Katrina before a project were to begin, you would obtain fine results. My wife and I do not hesitate to give Katrina our finest personal recommendation! She is diligent, thorough and exceptionally easy to work with.
