Our customer was renovating her mid-century modern home and wanted to bring the interior up to date. With a clean and sleek interior, we collectively decided on our custom Herringbone door model. This door model is completely flush, with two diagonal grain directions. The rich Walnut finish pops against the clean white walls and existing décor. This door line can be modified and customized to any dimension and configuration necessary. Traditional swing doors are the main style seen throughout the home, with the exception of a couple pocket doors, double doors and even a bifold door unit. The entrance to the new stair up to the couple's suite. Care was taken to make sure a king sized mattress could make that turn (I used the 3D model to verify a volume the size of a typical mattress would fit). The handrail is painted my favorite color—safety orange—and nicely compliments the wolf painting done by my mother-in-law. Sunlight from windows at the landing above fills the stairwell. At the landing the ceiling jumps up to 10' before stepping up again to align with the ceiling of the story above (about 16' above the first step after the landing).
