Completed in 2018, this Westlake Hills duplex, designed by Alterstudio Architects, underwent a dramatic transformation by mixing light & airy with dark & moody design. The goal of the project was to create a more intimate environment using a more saturated and dramatic palette. Additionally, it draws from warmer wood tones such as walnut alongside luxurious textures, particularly in navy, dark grey, and emerald green. The end result is an elegant, timeless, and comfortable space conducive to cozying up with a book at the end of a long day.

A traditional look and feel was required for this farmhouse full bath remodel. Period touches such as a Carrera marble basket weave floor tile design and Jado’s Savina pedestal sink maximized the visual impact of this bath originally built in the late 1800’s. 3”x6” White Subway tile walls contributed to the clean, simple, yet classic look and feel. Custom wood linen tower and framed medicine cabinet in painted white finish ensure plenty of personal storage and convenience yet provide a streamline appearance, keeping with the period of this lovely antique.

Whittier natural thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill creates a polish look on the exterior of this residential home. Whitter is a natural quartzite veneer in the dimensional ledgestone style. The pieces of stone are all 3” in height with lengths varying from 6”-18”. Whittier is predominantly white with some cream and light grey tones. The stone will also have some soft brown natural veining within the pieces and softly sparkle in the light. The pieces have been sawn on five sides including the top, bottom, ends, and back. The front shows the split face of the stone with a sandpaper like texture. Installation can be done with or without a mortar joint between the pieces. Whittier is a premium quality imported stone that we have in stock and ready to ship.

These custom window treatments in this room add depth to the design with the added detail of Greek key trim on the leading edge of the drapery panels. The panels are hung on iron hardware to add yet another texture to the room. The tone for this home is set in the main entry and living areas. Every room is livable and welcoming. The mainstay of this home design is the carefully thought out mix of styles, patterns and textures along with well placed and properly scaled pieces.

This tower style linen cabinet, was commissioned by a customer looking to finish off their bathroom renovation with a custom made-to-fit linen cabinet that would match with their vanity. We designed and built this nearly 7 foot tall cabinet for the customer using traditional joinery methods, using rabbets and dados to hold the shelves in place for a very solid finished piece. Decorative molding and trim was added to the bottom of the cabinet and the legs provide a pleasing negative space under the tall cabinet. Prefabricated molding, that matched the customer's vanity, was added to the top of the piece for added effect. The piece was sealed and then finished with a white cabinet enamel. Decorative knobs were added to also match the vanity in the bathroom.
