Kitchen - transitional kitchen idea in San Francisco

This kitchen came to life after the adobe that was around the island was removed allowing for work space on both sides. The beautiful panels were hidden under the adobe. The breakfast area also had an adobe banco around the perimeter that made seating difficult.

This kitchen came to life after the adobe that was around the island was removed allowing for work space on both sides. The beautiful panels were hidden under the adobe. The breakfast area also had an adobe banco around the perimeter that made seating difficult.

A difficult lot; a beautiful home. This is a narrow and oddly shaped lot, with a bluff to the rear as well as wetland issues. The client wanted a concept centered around a dramatic, formal great room with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and classical details. Outdoor living spaces needed to be created because of the tightness of the lot, and how the building needed to be located upon it.

Architectural windows add style and elegance to living areas within the house. However they tend to let in excess amounts of visible light, heat and UV rays that can damage furnishings. These windows are difficult to cover with conventional blinds (and why would you want to) due to their odd shape. Window films can be cut to the shape of the glass while allowing you to leave the open feel of the shape.

This space was also used as a guest room but without closets made it difficult for guests to store their belongings. We created mini closets with a tilt out hamper for their convenience. As you turn the corner there are 2 matching dresser/wardrobe combinations and the bed will be placed in between them.
