Our client had been living in her beautiful lakeside retreat for about 3 years. All around were stunning views of the lake and mountains, but the view from inside was minimal. It felt dark and closed off from the gorgeous waterfront mere feet away. She desired a bigger kitchen, natural light, and a contemporary look. Referred to JRP by a subcontractor our client walked into the showroom one day, took one look at the modern kitchen in our design center, and was inspired!
After talking about the frustrations of dark spaces and limitations when entertaining groups of friends, the homeowner and the JRP design team emerged with a new vision. Two walls between the living room and kitchen would be eliminated and structural revisions were needed for a common wall shared a wall with a neighbor. With the wall removals and the addition of multiple slider doors, the main level now has an open layout.
Everything in the home went from dark to luminous as sunlight could now bounce off white walls to illuminate both spaces. Our aim was to create a beautiful modern kitchen which fused the necessities of a functional space with the elegant form of the contemporary aesthetic. The kitchen playfully mixes frameless white upper with horizontal grain oak lower cabinets and a fun diagonal white tile backsplash. Gorgeous grey Cambria quartz with white veining meets them both in the middle. The large island with integrated barstool area makes it functional and a great entertaining space.
The master bedroom received a mini facelift as well. White never fails to give your bedroom a timeless look. The beautiful, bright marble shower shows what's possible when mixing tile shape, size, and color. The marble mosaic tiles in the shower pan are especially bold paired with black matte plumbing fixtures and gives the shower a striking visual.
Layers, light, consistent intention, and fun! - paired with beautiful, unique designs and a personal touch created this beautiful home that does not go unnoticed.

Inspiration for a mid-sized contemporary galley eat-in kitchen remodel in Orange County with solid surface countertops and an island

A space perfect for relaxation—that's the ambiance this recent Evanston bathroom remodeling creates.
The walls painted in lazy gray provide a serene backdrop while the metallic mosaic black tiles in the niche above the shower bath deliver a striking feel. The white matte ceramic tiles on the shower wall provide a perfect balance to the boldness of the metallic mosaic black tiles in the niche.
The 30-inch bathroom vanity in Light Gray finishing contributes to an upgraded sense of style. Dark and bold black tiles bring an industrial edge to the bathroom flooring. The oxidized metal look and matte finish enhance the contemporary quality of these porcelain tiles, creating depth and dimension that captivate the eye.
To complete the look, the vanity lighting gives off a custom feel with its trio of faceted shades and minimalist form. The matte black bathroom accessories serve as the perfect finishing touch, solidifying the overall design with a harmonious blend of style and practicality.

This entry view reveals a thoughtfully designed transition within the primary bathroom suite. A rich olive green door opens to a private water closet, creating both visual separation and architectural depth. The saturated paint color contrasts beautifully with the darker stone flooring and matte black shower framing nearby, setting a moody, contemporary tone.
Inside the water closet, a geometric wood feature wall introduces warmth and texture, its repeating pattern adding sculptural interest to what is often a purely functional space. Soft, ambient lighting enhances the dimensional surfaces, creating a cohesive and elevated experience.
Beyond the doorway, a glimpse of the dramatic vanity area and sculptural lighting maintains continuity with the rest of the primary bathroom design. Every detail, even within the enclosed water closet, reflects the same intentional, art-forward aesthetic.
Functional, private, and visually impactful, this primary bathroom suite balances bold design with refined practicality.

Right from the start, these clients had a very specific wish list: A spot for all the things!
The existing Kitchen was really lacking in storage space for everyday life. There just wasn’t enough room for things like Water Bottles, Lunch Boxes, Spices, Toaster, Coffee Machine, Kitchen Aid Mixer, and Containers - which left everything feeling jam packed and chaotic.
Embracing function was first priority - we looked for ways to create a hard working and streamlined Kitchen. That came to life by incorporating as many Kitchen organization accessories as possible: A Blind corner pullout, Cutlery and Utensil Organizers, Drawers galore, Pantry Rollout shelving, A Recycling station pullout, moved the Microwave to the Peninsula, and added a Beverage Fridge.
One of the favourite wins was doing away with the corner sink and redesigning the Kitchen to feature the sink area centred to the Window. We also extended the usable counter space of the Island and to allow for seating for 3 at the Peninsula.
To keep things light but also add some interesting layers - we used a unique geometric 3 dimensional wall tile as the backsplash across the entire length of the range wall and right into the nook area. This textured wall tile was a pivotal element for durability but also for the aesthetic - which the clients say is one of their favourite parts of the new space.
